Prey model raw? They hunted this one on their own. And then shared it 🤷♂️
What do you make of it?
Laying the foundation is the most important thing. Do you think you could build a skyscraper on top of a weak foundation?
This exercise may look really simple but it lays the foundation for a good recall.
One of my favorite dog/client pair.
Teach your dog to jump obstacles on Que.
Some nice recall action, calling Buck into heel position with distraction of dogs watching. A good exercise for both the dog being recalled and the dogs watching and holding their spot. Thanks @k9.elite for working with us
Lola loves to fetch … check it out :-)
Find what your dog loves.
Now that’s an enthusiastic recall. Remember not to poison your commands. Recall your dog to let him go again, don’t just recall to get him away from the fun.
Sorry for our absence but we will slowly be returning here to provide some quality content for you. Really didn’t have time and didn’t want to post just for posting.
Is it cruel not to let your dog sniff at heel?
NO!! But you should teach good leash manners so that you can give him more freedom without him pulling you down the road.
Rather than crying about how cruel it is not to let dogs be dogs, put in the time and train. With every bit of training your dog gains more freedom.
Want him to sniff and be free? Teach him a killer recall and let him be off leash.
Want him to use his nose even more? Teach him some scent work.
At the very least teach him a lose leash walk and to fall back into heel.
I never get tired of practicing recalls. Usually I don’t do them out of a stay but every now and then it’s ok. If you always do then from a stay, you will often see three unwanted side effects.
1. It will degrade your stats because your dog will anticipate a pattern such as: you walk away, stop, turn around and recall me. ... what will happen is that as soon as you stop the dog May likely break.
2. It will not help out your recall in a real world environment when the dog is running lose much. With owners who practice recall this way, many times I have them say any command and to their surprise the dog will come. Again because of anticipation of a pattern.
3. Your dog will go into a hover down or hover sit, where his butt or belly is not making full contact with the ground because he’s anticipating to be called and sprint out.
Dogs are masters of anticipation and recognizing patterns. Mix it up.
