MEG Think M.E.G is an awareness page regards buying a new puppy

Puppy Farm Awareness Campaign Ireland

M.E.G says this is the reality of puppy farms and it goes on all over the UK and Ireland with no regard to the dogs and puppies physical or physiological welfare. See M.E.G's own website for more information http://buyingapuppy-thinkmeg.com/

"My work involved caring for a large number of dogs, of various breeds living in assorted agricultural buildings. In one there was a large breed dog in a pen so small he could barely turn around. In other pens there were numerous medium and smaller dogs. None of the pens at the rear of the building had any natural light and were in constant darkness."

M.E.G wants to tell people to make sure that any puppy they are getting should come from an environment that is safe, clean and provides toys for the puppies to interact and have fun with. See M.E.G's own website for more information http://buyingapuppy-thinkmeg.com/

Ask M.E.G : What then can potential puppy owners do to influence better breeding practices to avoid tragic stories like Phoebe's ?

M.E.G's answer: By only adopting or obtaining a puppy that you know has had the upbringing that is optimum for their future mental and physical development. It really is a case of supply and demand! If we, the public, continue to buy or obtain puppies from unknown or environmentally deprived establishments then unscrupulous breeders will continue to supply them. We the consumers can improve breeding practices by only buying or obtaining puppies from breeders that have their health and behavioural welfare as a priority.

Good Dirt obtained through fun and freedom, Bad Dirt obtained through neglect, maltreatment and incarceration. Don't line the pockets of vile puppy farmers this christmas.

Update on animal sentient vote: Prompted by the scale of concern raised by the vote, Environment Secretary Michael Gove has since used a written statement (see link below) to defend the Government’s current position, arguing that the Withdrawal Bill “is not the right place” to address the issue, while reiterating that they are “considering the right legislative vehicle” to ensure that animal sentience continues to be recognised after Brexit.

Good to see some healthy, happy pups enjoying training class tonight in Belfast. Remember if you are thinking of purchasing a puppy to ensure you approach a reputable breeder and ask to see the Mum and where the puppies are being kept and get information on any early socialisation the breeder has been doing with the litter.

Our Belfast pups enjoyed some time getting used to various moving and static objects tonight. We seem to have a few professional canine skateboarders in the class! 😆

'Anyone thinking of going down the route of cheap puppies from the internet needs to realise the real reason they are cheap' - wise words Lisa Graham.
See M.E.G's own website for more information on the best way to choose a puppy. The aim of M.E.G. is to inform potential puppy owners to the important development of a baby puppy’s brain and how if this organ is not nurtured and cared for in the first critical weeks of a puppy’s life spent at a breeder then detrimental impact can be carried forward into the puppy’s adult life which will not only affect its quality of life but that of its human family.

M.E.G says it's that time of the year again - Christmas! Be extra careful where you get your puppy from, adopt or obtain from a breeder who is concerned about the Mum's and her puppies welfare - do not line the pockets of the despicable puppy farmer. MUM should be pleased to see you, wagging her tail with her pups following behind. Make sure you see a happy, relaxed loved Mum. Animal welfare officers seize nearly 90 dogs and puppies in Aberdeenshire

M.E.G says if you are obtaining or Buying a Puppy! – Think M.E.G. The biggest crisis affecting pet dogs today are poor breeding environments, either due to lack of knowledge on the breeder’s part, or in most cases their health and mental wellbeing is ignored in preference to making a profit. See M.E.G's own website for more information http://buyingapuppy-thinkmeg.com/
.

Along with dogs, a number of other animals including rabbits and ferrets were also seized.
