TODAY IS THE DAY!!!!!

Board members and volunteers are gathering at Keel Farms this morning to set up ALL the MANY,MANY silent auction items for you to bid on. The event starts at 11:00 am. And we can’t wait to see everyone - after many of our events have been cancelled after the very active storm season, this event has become even more important as a fundraiser.

As always, well behaved dogs are always welcome! Come out and meet me and many of the other board members.

To all the dogs we’ve had in our lives, we say we loved them, but the truth is, they loved us in ways we’ll never be able to repay. They gave us more than we could ever ask for—comfort when we didn’t even know we needed it, loyalty when we felt lost, and a kind of companionship that went deeper than words.

We say we loved them, but they were the ones who showed us what love really looks like. It was in their eyes every time we walked through the door, in the way they stayed close during the hardest days, in the moments when they just knew we needed them. They saw us at our worst and still looked at us like we were the best thing in their world.

To all the dogs we’ve had, we want them to know how much they shaped us, how they were more than just pets—they were family, they were soulmates in their own way. We loved them, but they loved us better, with a kind of pure, unwavering love that we’ll carry with us for the rest of our lives.

We want to remind everyone that our annual Winery to the Rescue event is still on for November 9th THIS SATURDAY at the Keel & Curley Winery in Plant City.

We have tons and tons of silent auction items for this year's auction, hotel stays, vacation certificates, attraction tickets, sports tickets, wonderful gift baskets (Bern's basket featured), dog beds and much, much more - our auction committee has outdone themselves this year. The attached photos are but a FRACTION of the items included in the silent auction. There will be NO LIVE AUCTION this year. Highest bid wins - just that simple.

We will be making these cute Paw Print Christmas ornaments on site for a $10.00 donation and there will be plenty of dog items for sale to raise money for the rescues.
As always Keel Farms has yummy food selections and some wonderful beer and wine selections. Come out and start off the holiday season with food, fun and great gift ideas!

November is Adopt a Senior Month and we have a couple still in rescue.

Zalton - 6 year old neutered male Great Dane. He has been with us in rescue for the better part of a year. He really needs a home of his own and a person to love him. He is good with most other dogs and tends to shy away from dogs with an active play style. He is pretty much a couch potato. He has never been around children and can be protective of his home and family. He is sweet and loving to his person or people.

Brie - is a senor fawn Great Dane who is doing beautifully in her foster home, but would love a home and person of her very own. She gets along with the dogs in her foster home. She is very sweet, up to date on vaccines, spayed and ready to live out her golden years on a comfy couch with a gentle hand.

We were notified earlier this week that our senior boy Sammy, has also found his forever family. His foster family has decided that they just couldn’t let him go.

Sammy has a couple of canine companions, one of whom,Phantom is also a FLGDR alumni.

We wish his family all the best and thank them from the bottom of our hearts for adopting this sweet senior.

We have happy, happy news this beautiful Sunday morning! First of all, did you remember to turn your stove and car clocks back one hour! Most others will reset themselves.

Our boy Cain started the fall season in fine fashion, he found his forever home. His parents have adopted from our rescue many times. He has two fur siblings, both FLGDR alumni - Emberly and Kingsley. Besides the canine members of the family there is a red Macaw, Donkey and chickens on the 30 acre farm Cain now calls his home.

We would like to thank his parents for continuing to adopt and all of you that continue to donate and support our cause. Cain was neutered and had eye surgery while in rescue, the eye surgery was necessary to save his sight. We came to you for donations to help defray the cost, so everyone of our rescue family had a hand in making this adoption possible.

Happy Tails to Cain and his new family!

Happy Halloween to all 🎃🤠🤡👻! Today is also Reformation Day, National Knock Knock Joke Day and National Carmel Apple Day.

Today is also the day that Captain gets free of the cone of shame and had his stitches removed. We came to you a few weeks ago to request donations to help both Captain and Cain receive the necessary surgical correction to their eyes. We are happy to say that both boys have received their sight saving surgery and are doing well. The first picture is Captain upon entry into rescue, the others are Captain this morning once his sutures were removed. His veterinary team are very please with the outcome, the entropion has been taken care of and all looks good.

Now comes the task of finding Captain a home. He is beautiful, yes, he is sweet and loving, yes - BUT he was also used as a breeding dog and most likely lived outside and has no concept of house manners or personal space. He's doing well on potty training and hasn't had an accident in his crate in about a week, he does well with females and neutered, neutral males that are patient or indifferent to dogs like him.

Everything is new to him, so that means everything is to explored - think of Captain as a 120 # puppy that's learning everything for the first time. He walks nicely on a leash with the appropriate collar, rides nicely in the truck once boundaries are established and has never met a human he didn't like. BUT, he will need training, rules, boundaries and parents that can make it stick.

A Great Dane savvy home with a fenced yard would be ideal for Captain. Older children that are dog savvy and not easily knocked over are fine. He has walked past the office cat without notice - I don't know what he would do if they ran.

We have received a couple of applications for him, but are still accepting applications at this time. If you would like to apply to adopt Captain, visit our website at:

Hi! I am Jasmine and I’m looking for my final forever home. I’m almost 3 years old and was displaced because of hurricane Milton through no fault of my own.

I am a very good girl, I am potty trained, I sit and give you my paw and take treats gently, I’m good with people, kids and dogs, but I do have a strong prey drive so cats are probably not a good idea for me. I love to play with my foster sibling and although I would be a good solitary pet, I would love to have a fur sibling to play with. When I was a tiny puppy, I broke my leg and the rescue was nice enough to have it surgically fixed. It does not stop me, however, and I can zoom like no dog has ever zoomed before! I’m also a big snuggler and love attention. I can be a little leash reactive, but that’s just because I want to play with every dog. I see.

My foster mom says I’m getting better at that every day. Overall, I am a very happy, well adjusted, affectionate dog, and I would love to meet you!

(Jasmine is a spayed female Blue Lacy, approximately 60 pounds are immediately ready for her forever home. )

I think everyone can handle some feel good news after what we've all been through the last few weeks.

If you follow our page, you will remember the wonderful photos of the globetrotting Danes sent to us by their parents. Sadly, last year Romulus, the black dane passed away as a result of all the damage heartworms did to his body prior to coming into rescue. His parents mourned his passing and thought their hearts would never be whole again.

I have grown close to them over the years and when Monroe (now Remus) ended up in rescue and my house for being a jerk at a previous fosters home - I knew exactly who would be perfect parents for him. I contacted my friends (great friends of the rescue) and let them know I had a beautiful boy that needed them as much as they needed him. The rest as they say - is history.

Shortly after, we had another sweet girl come into rescue - also a breeding dog - her name was Havana. After being vetted and spayed she too went up for adoption. I took her to an event, not knowing my friends would be there. Through the course of the event they fell in love with her and Havana became a member of the Globetrotting Danes 2.0.

Their parents bought a bigger RV just to accommodate everyone comfortably when traveling between Florida and their Canadian home. The attached photos were taken at their oceanside Canadian home. Havana is the blue, Remus is the male harlequin and Minerva is the original member of the pack, also a harlequin. All former breeding dogs now rescued and enjoying the best life possible. Thank you John and Denise!

October 27th Dia de los Mu***os for pets.

On this day, we welcome back the spirit of our beloved companions who have crossed the veil. Families create a small space or ofrenda with water, food, and special mementos to guide their spirit home, reflecting on the joy and love they brought into our lives.

True or not, it's a comforting thought to many that have lost beloved fur family.
