It’s been awhile and we’ve been settling in after a busy 2023. It’s always nice for us when our puppy families give us such great updates. Today’s was from 5 month old Mochi (Aster x Salty), who is living his best life in the Los Angeles area. He’s being a very good boy and bringing all the joy to his new family.

The holidays are a great time for reflection and thankfulness for us… the past year has been one of great change in our lives… Most notably, with the help of our great mentor (Judi Elford - Vanderbilt Samoyeds), we were able to successfully breed 3 litters and add 4 more fantastic puppies to our home here at Camp Wild Spirit. Just as important to us were the friendships formed and rekindled as we became more immersed in the dog life. We treasure these relationships and feel blessed to have so much to be thankful for. We hope you all do as well!!

Wild Spirit Samoyeds is proud to present our latest AKC Champion (pending confirmation): CH Wild Spirit’s BIG Girls Don’t Cry - Prim

Prim was one of our keeper puppies from our January 2023 Sadie x Mr. Big litter. She finished very quickly over 3 show weekends (11 shows) at 9 mo 4 days old. She’s feisty, correct and just loves to show. Prim finished exclusively Owner-Handled and and is our second Bred-by Champion.

At the vet getting our “Go Home” check ups with Dr. Curl. Everyone passed with flying colors and were a hit with the entire staff. Big week for these kids.

Hi!! We are practicing not pooping in our crates! Yay us! We kid, these are such a great bunch of kids. We will miss them when they go, but great lives and big adventures await!

Big things happening today!! Kids moved into their final “Grand Central Station” pen here at Camp Wild Spirit. Right in the heart of the activity area for the rest of the crew. Time to experience the sights, sounds and smells of daily house living. It’s an essential step in getting them ready for the “real world” ahead.

Getting braver and braver our on the back porch too. Today was a chilly “Central Texas” morning at 50 degrees. They loved it. Just about 2 1/2 weeks left. What a joy these 4 have been. 🥰🧂🌶️🌵⭐️🥰

🧂🌶️🌵⭐️ are 1 month old today, so they busted out of the whelping pen and moved into larger living quarters…. Their world just tripled in size, but they are facing the adventure with courage and resilience as expected.

They are growing fast now so lots of new toys and new experiences await. Have a great day everyone. (Salty x Aster)

🧂🌶️🌵⭐️ are already 9 days old. These early days are mostly about gaining weight and growing, but now we are getting to some fun stuff in the next few days as their eyes begin to open. We are starting to introduce new things as tolerated by Mama Aster. More pictures to follow.

Small Photo Dump…. early impressions: Aster is a tremendous mother, and is very vigilant and fastidious in her duties. We sort of knew this from the way she’s always interacted with puppies from our other litters,  but even moreso with her own pups. The puppies are thriving under her care. At 72 hours, all puppies have some pigment starting to come in 🤗.

Aster (x Salty) brought us 4 beautiful puppies that were born September 7, 2023. Mama is doing great and the pups are all very vigorous and active. Huge thank you to Judi & Blair Elford (Vanderbilt Samoyeds) for allowing this breeding and more importantly, for their continued guidance and mentorship to Katie and I. It means more than they’ll ever know. Onward and upward…
