VT Motion

VT Motion Having two super active dogs has been an adventure and certainly involved alot of searching and learning.

Sharing lessons learned from my dog ownership journey and a bit of the fun we have.

Spring has sprung, all the kicksleds found homes this winter and the conditions were beautiful, I hope all the new sledders found some joy out there! Next year will be pre order only, so if you're interested start thinking about it.

I am dusting off the pedal bike and have gone out slinging mud on myself to the dogs delight. Thinking of bringing in some dog bike attachments this summer.

I often hear people comment on the difficulties of biking with dogs, they often think they need their pup to be off leash (which isnt permitted in some locations) or some how hold the leash of a possible squirrel scooter all the while trying to enjoy their ride while exercising fido.

I have personally wiped out with the leash while biking strategy. I upgraded to a bike attachment some years ago as one of my boys chases vehicles. The bike attachment is great, hands free and keeps pup from pulling, veering off or launching me from my bike!

When I was a kid I would of loved this, my dog was a brat and would drag me all over if I walked him. We could of put his pulling power and the “mom I’m bored” problem to rest had I had this to burn around with!

The T4 (medium), suggested user size 4’0” to 5’1”.

I was thinking about dog breeds today, and thought I’d mention that the desire to pull or engage with their human isn’t limited to one type. None of my dogs are conventional dog sledding dogs (Brittany, chessie and on occasion our Doberman friend), none are fluffy or bred to pull, but all of them love to be active!

Do you need two dogs? no, it depends on how fast you want to go and how much work you want to do. The dude on the left pulls solo, I just do a bit more kicking/pushing on the sled, which is ok I need the exercise too!

This black sled is going to look super slick. Sleds are in and it’s nice and slippery out there ❄️

These sleds are pretty compact and light, they collapse down for storage and transportation. To collapse you just undo two small bolts, no tools or special skills required. I personally collapse mine down and hang it on the wall in the garage. I have also packed it and two dogs into a ford focus!

Sleds are set to arrive December 1st and two are sized for littles! T2 (user height 3’3” to 4’2”) and T4 (user height 4’ to 5’1”).

I am so excited for these to come in and see some little people using them. They could be enjoyed as just a kicksled or teach their pup to pull, either way burning some energy while having fun!

T2 - $339 + GST
T4 - $409 + GST

Dog attachment (bridle, bungee and tug line) - $60 + GST

The kicksled has been so amazing in getting me and the dogs outside and active in the winter. We like to tour around home, go ice fishing or check out the local skidoo trails.
Coming in December I will have a limited number of kicksleds with dog attachments, dm me to get your hands on one of these sleds.

It's starting to feel alot like fall, here area few things I like to pack for the field.
1. Collapsible silicone bowl - easy/light to pack around and handy to water the dogs
2. Slip lead - quick on and off, you never know when you will need to wrangle a dog and don't want to mess around with snaps/grabbing collars
3. High visibility collar - fall colours are beautiful but are also great camo
4. Bell - when high vis fails, at the very least you can hear if they're nearby
5. Fine comb - seeds, seeds, everywhere are seeds! I've had this comb for almost 10 years, it's my go to every fall for getting seeds/twigs everything off the dogs
