This accreditation is voluntary and SVH is proud to be counted among them! 😻

Update! Comcast service has a been restored! 👏🏻
Day 2, Comcast internet is still down in the Manchester area. 😞
🚨 We appreciate your patience this morning while we are dealing with the aftermath of the nasty storms Tuesday evening in the Manchester area. We are very lucky to have power, but we still do not have Comcast Internet, therefore, we do not have phones at either of our locations. ☎️ 🚫
If you are here for an appointment, surgery admit or medication pick up, please come inside.
If you need to reach us in the meantime, please feel free to email us at [email protected] and we will respond as soon as we can. 🚨
Cooper was in recently with Dr. Owings for his first puppy exam. 💙 🐾
Do you think he’ll grow into those ears⁉️🤣👂🏻
🚨 It appears that the Church Road bridge (that goes over 83) is still closed this morning due to damage from the storms last night. If you are heading to our Manchester (East) office you may need to find an alternative route. 🚨
12:45 pm Update; Comcast is down again and we predict will be spotty for quite some time. 😔
12pm Update; comcast WiFi is up and running. Phones are now working! 👏🏻

Today is pet fire safety day. 🔥
Please take a few minutes today to reflect on a fire safety plan for your pets!
Things to think about:
Do you have a pet alert sticker in your front window so the fire fighters know how many pets are in your house? 🤔
Where would you take your pets if you did have to evacuate them? 🤔
Poppy was recently in for her first puppy exam with Dr. Andrews! 💕
Technician, Grace, didn’t want to put her down. 🥰
Does anyone want to guess what breed this sweet girl is⁉️
*Please stare at this photo for 30 seconds…
Jiff has now convinced you to go have a PB&J sandwich 🥜🍇🍞

We are thrilled to welcome back Dr. Hannah Onstott to the SVH team in August! 😻
Dr. Onstott earned her undergraduate degree from Wilson College. She then earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota.
She had originally joined Shiloh Veterinary Hospital in 2018 and is happy to be returning!! She has special interests in exotic medicine and nutrition…though feline medicine is her favorite 🐈⬛. She’s an advocate for fear-free patient handling and believes strongly in the human-animal bond.
Outside of work, she likes to travel, go camping, read books and play Mario Kart 😁🏎️. She shares her home with 2 very energetic dogs (Fenway, Frank) and 4 cats (Simon, Chase, Otto, Archie).

Cyrus Jones has IVDD (intervertebral disc disease). He attends Physical Therapy Sessions every week at our Manchester office. In this video, Ami is helping him with a figure 8 excercise which helps in multiple ways: ~It helps him bend his body which helps stretch muscles and works on coordination. ~It also encourages weight shifting, which engages and strengthens muscle throughout the body. ~They will change directions throughout this exercise, so it is a full body exercise and can be used for a variety of conditions. 💙🐾💪 Please call our office at (717) 767-0180 to set up a PT consultation with Dr. Owings if you have a pet that could benefit from PT!
Rufus lost both of his eyes last year. As you can see, he can still impress us with his tricks with the help of his Mom's touch and voice. What a good boy! 💙🐾 The link below has tips on how to help blind dogs and cats stay safe and comfortable! 😊 https://www.humanesociety.org/resources/how-care-blind-pets
Did you know⁉️ If you or your pet gets bit by a tick, you can submit the tick to the PA Tick Research Lab and they will test it for FREE for PA residents! 🔬🥼🥽🧪 https://www.ticklab.org/
Oscar is a new patient here at SVH. 😻 When he was here for his first wellness exam he showed Dr. Herr and Technician, Nikki, his treat catching trick. 😻🐟 Does your cat do any tricks⁉️⁉️🐱
When Miss Puck was here for her visit she enjoyed belly rubs from Technician, Nikki. Be sure to turn your sound up to hear that PURR! 📣 Did you know⁉️ “Research has shown that the vibrations emitted by a cat’s purr can lower blood pressure, lessen stress and even promote healing.” 🐱😻 #CatPurr #SoundUp
Roman was well distracted with spray cheese while Dr. Owings performed his wellness exam! 🧀🩺🐾 Between the two hospitals, how many cans of spray cheese do you think we go through each week⁉️🧀🤔

While Frito was here for his appointment, he was very comfortable sitting in the window perch and watching the birds outside. 🐦🪟 Did you know that cats love perches because it gives them a safe place to watch the action from above⁉️ Placing a perch at the window allows your cat to watch the outdoor scenery from above. To make the scenery more attractive you can hang a bird feeder and/or plant flowers to attract insects. 🐝🌻🦋 Read this article below for more info and tips about cats and their perches. https://indoorpet.osu.edu/cats/basicneeds/perches #apurrfectstart #basicindoorcatneeds #indoorpetinitiative
Are you ready for a “Feel Good” post? 🥰 Friday morning our west team arrived to a cat in a trap at our front door! 😳 Once we got the sweet kitty settled in, we scanned for her a microchip and found that she had one! 👏🏻 We called the microchip company and found out her name was Lilo and she was a 3 year old spayed female and got the information linked to her owners. Her family was found and we found out they have been looking for Lilo for 3 months! 😳 They have children at home that have been missing her very much. Watch this super happy reunion! 🥹 *see comments for more video and pictures* Way to go team!! 🐾❤️ #microchipyourpets

Ever wonder what your pet does when they stay with us for a procedure? 🤔 Most rest on comfy beds while listening to our calming music. 😴 Breaks for petting and snuggles are common. 🥰 However some, like Beau, who came in for a spay-want to play! A little playtime is fine by us! 🤍🐾
Puppy class sneak peak: Puppy class recess action You can see that Jelly Bean is totally excited about playing with a new friend and that even though Togo can retreat if he wants, he is coming back for more because he is having so much fun. Wendy monitors the dogs body language so that she can tell when the pups need a break.
Puppy Class Sneak Peak Jelly Bean takes a turn at the recall game! Both puppies picked it up fast. :)
Puppy Class Sneak Peak: Each session Wendy helps puppies and owners through the groundwork for positive-reinforcement based training. Here Togo and work on a recall game to teach the puppies that it‘s fun to come when called.
