Yesterday I received heartbreaking news. One of my longest doggy clients has passed away. Belle was one of the sweetest, most gentle souls you will ever meet. She didn’t have a great start in life because she was a racing dog. When she was too old to continue racing, she ended up at a rescue. She was adopted by a wonderful family, and I was lucky enough to have the pleasure of taking care of her for the past 5 years. She was quite the character. Everyday that I walked into her house she would run to me, ridiculously excited, hopping up and down to the point I couldn’t even get her leash on to take her out for our walk. Once we finally got her leash on, and got to the door she would go from uncontrollable energy, to being as cool and calm as a cucumber the minute I opened the door. It made me laugh every single time she did it. I will miss how loving, and meek she was. But most of all, I will miss seeing her adorable face. She may be gone, but I will never forget the joy she brought to me. ❤️

This what can happen walking your dog on hot pavement.
Don't do it !
Grass is much cooler....and early and late in the day.

To my human moms & dads, this is what happens to my paws when you take me out in the scorching sun ☀️ when the pavement is so hot !
Remember I sweat through my paws, so in this heat I can’t get rid of my sweat as my paws are burning. Missing my walk won’t harm me. Please let me just relax indoors and take me out when the sun is down🐾
If you see someone walking their dog on hot pavement, ask them to take off their shoes for the remainder of their walk home. Maybe then they'll understand.
Thank you to 8 Below Husky Rescue for this valuable advice 🙏

This is so very true when you adopt or foster a pet that is in need.

They take time to get comfortable, it's worth the time and patience❤

PROTECT YOUR PETS!

With scorching heat expected this week, please remember to take care of your pets! It's obvious that you should never leave your pet in a hot car, but many forget about the hot pavement.

The scorching sun can heat up concrete and asphalt to ridiculous levels which can easily burn and blister your dog's delicate paw pads.

It's best to walk your dog in the early morning or late evening when the ground is much cooler. This will prevent their paws from getting burned and greatly reduce the risk of heatstroke.

Make sure there is a constant supply of fresh drinking water and make sure animals have access to shade.

Take care of yourselves as well!

Today is my last day with a very special boy. Charleston and his family moved down the street from me in July of 2016. Charleston was about 7 or 8 weeks old and I had just started my business the month prior. When I got the email that he was going to need an everyday visit, I was filled with excitement. He was my 3rd ever client and my 1st ever puppy. No doubt there were tough moments, but as time went on it got easier and easier. Fast forward through the years and here we are 5.5 years later. He is the sweetest, goofiest, fiercely loyal, and intelligent dog. He makes me laugh every single day. I’ve seen this guy 5 days a week all these years, and to say not seeing him anymore will leave a huge hole in my heart, is an understatement. I dread having to do his visit today, because it’s my last. The last time we go through our daily routine, the last time we play fetch, the last time I give him a kiss goodbye, and the last time I tell him to be a good boy and that I love him, all while he looks over his shoulder at me closing the door with the look in his eye as if he is wondering why the heck I’m leaving for the day already. I wish him and his family the absolute best as they move on to their new adventure. Here are some pictures of this handsome boy. Everyday at 11:00 going forward, I will look at the clock and think of him and wonder how he is. My heart is sad, but I am so grateful he brought me so much love and joy the last 5.5 years.
