Nolan went for a little car ride and trip to a local shaded park to run his paws over some grass but decided after opening the doors that he would prefer the inside of the car with the AC turned on full blast!
Nolan is still searching for his Unicorn Foster/Adopter! We have someone willing to work with Nolan on his quirks, but we need a committed foster. A foster that has no other dogs or cats. Every week I ask what our top need is for #WishlistWednesday and the answer is… Fosters!
We are currently short 6 (soon to be 7) dog fosters. This means 7 dogs in kennel boarding, missing out on much-needed human (and pet) contact and enrichment.
Fostering is simply opening your home to an animal in need. We cover the animal’s medical care, food, and other costs. You simply provide a loving environment. Your reward? Love. ❤️

Athena is one of those sweet dogs who just hasn’t had the best luck 😞. Her current foster family is moving, and due to last-minute changes, Athena urgently needs a new foster home.
She is one of those dogs that we know would truly suffer in a boarding environment, so we are determined to keep her out of boarding and find her the loving home she deserves. Athena is great with kids and other dogs (though she may need time with more dominant dogs), and she’s good with cats too. She loves playing with toys and laying with her blanket. She’s truly a living angel who just wants all the love!

As we mentioned earlier this week, Athena’s current foster family is in the process of moving. Moving is never easy, fun, or predictable, and due to some last-minute changes, Athena urgently needs a new foster home. Now.
We had an amazing, sweet family visit today to meet Athena and explore fostering her. Everything seemed perfect! Unfortunately, the meet and greet with their two dogs didn’t go as planned. No one’s fault—sometimes, dogs (like humans) just don’t click. We want to extend a huge THANK YOU to this family for their kindness and trying! All it takes is trying to help make a difference!
So, we are back on the hunt for a new foster for Athena! She is one of those dogs who would truly suffer in a boarding environment, so we are determined to keep her out of boarding and find her the loving home she deserves.

Athena was found over a month ago with a large gash on her neck. After an exam and some meds to heal, she is ready to find her people!! You can find her playing with toys, laying with her blanket, or playing with her favorite thing…kids! She’s truly a living angel who just wants all the love! Who better to celebrate National Ice Cream Day with than Nolan! Nolan has had quite the sad tale so double scoops with a cherry on top for him today ❤️
Discovered on the streets emaciated and battered— Although we located his original owner, they stopped answering our calls. (Maybe they didn’t want to answer to his ear mutilation?)
Given our shortage of dog fosters, while we nursed Nolan back to health, he was placed in boarding but as the months passed he deteriorated in boarding (some dogs just do) and developed a mistrust of men.
As a pit mix with cropped ears, Nolan faces a lot of unfair judgments at first glance. But, he’s a total sweetheart who bonds with Animal Aid of Tulsa staff and volunteers. He loves to give kisses and snuggle while you sing him silly songs. He is a very good boi 💕🐾
His ideal home would be as a single pet (no other dogs or cats) and a female household. We believe with patience and training, Nolan can get back to trusting men and more but, again, for Nolan to succeed- He needs a chance. Patience is key, and he deserves a loving family! 💕🐾
