I am looking to lighten my load and reduce my numbers by half. I will have several mature lionheads available ranging from 2-5 yrs. None are aggressive but I would suggest only older children & adults with experience. Please pm me for more info.

Hay VS Straw. What's the difference?
I have seen many people confused about when to use hay or straw. Here is a little information to help out!

-Hay is grown primarily for its nutritional value. It typically has some moisture in it and can mold fairly easily. It is not hollow.

-Straw is commonly used as bedding material. It is dry and water repellent. Because of this it is unlikely to mold. Straw is hollow and can trap heat inside it, making it a great insulator.

For rabbits you should always use straw as a nesting material and hay (Timothy or grass mix) as food.

You may have noticed a drop in my litters this year. This is because several of my doe’s are older and have joined the retirement colony. At this time, I do not plan to add to my rabbitry.

I have waited to post one of these because every picture I’ve found had at least 1 thing I didn’t agree with. I’ve decided to keep this simple.

I NEVER advertise my rabbits as gifts! Am I opposed to it? Absolutely not! If you have a child, or adult in some cases that is educated and ready to care for a rabbit then go ahead and get them a very special gift that will make memories for around 10 years!

I am opposed to someone buying rabbits for young children and not preparing to care for it the rest of its life after the child outgrows it. I am also opposed to photographers purchasing a rabbit just to use for a prop and then give it away to anyone who will take it! I’m sure someone out there would be willing to let you use their pet.

Rabbits are very delicate animals that do need a special diet and chew toys. They need constant affection to keep them from turning somewhat feral. Some breeds need routine grooming. Research your breed before you buy! Ask your breeder questions! Research nearby vet clinics that take rabbits in case of emergency.

If you are physically and mentally prepared to care for a rabbit I would be happy to help you find your new best friend! If you are looking to buy on impulse PLEASE DON’t.

Please take note that I will no longer be offering ear tattoos due to an issue with supplies. Every rabbit will still be assigned a # on their pedigree if you choose to have them tattooed yourself.

Many years ago I learned the hard truth about pasteurella in rabbits. A very popular rabbitry (or so I thought) sold me a blue eyed buck that was infected with this disease without my knowledge for $100. Not only did I lose my money but I also lost said rabbit and a couple of my own stock.

https://www.canadianveterinarians.net/documents/snuffles-in-rabbits

The formal term for "snuffles" is nasal catarrh or pasteurellosis. This condition is caused by a bacterium called Pasteurella multocida, and sometimes another bacterium, Bordetella may have a role in some cases (particularly pneumonia). It is considered highly contagious. It is not just a nasal (nos...

How did you hear about this rabbitry?

I’d like to know. Was it from a mutual friend, Facebook posts or did you see me post in a group?

We have had many new page likes in the past two weeks. Whether you are here to observe or because you are interested in owning a lionhead of your very own, I’d like to say welcome!
Unfortunately, if you have sent me a message recently I am not able to reply due to a glitch in the new update. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. Sorry for the inconvenience.

If you are messaging me to ask if I have anything available at the moment, the answer is no.
