Bentley, Fern and Dobby are worn out after Fonthill Dog Show today.
They collectively got 1st place in rescue class and Bentley cane second in oddest pair with Lola the Cocker Spaniel puppy. Thanks to Verity Pike from Gemini Dog Services for lending her for the job!

🌟 STAR DOG 2020 🌟

I'm excited to announce the Star Dog of 2020 is Bentley!!

Bentley is a Podenco Ibicenco, also known as an Ibizan Hound, who landed on his paws when he arrived in the UK and Jo and Graeme failed as Foster parents, adopting him officially in Oct last year.

I was lucky enough to meet him as soon as he arrived, so have seen first-hand the incredible transformation this boy has made.

This would not have happened were it not for the commitment, energy and love that Graeme and Jo have given him. Their passion for the breed is incredible and all three of their Pods have thrived.

My decision to give this award to Bentley is based on all of the above, my knowledge and understanding of how difficult this breed can be to train 'traditionally' and how proud I was when Bentley and Graeme passed their Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze award this year- even more amazing given that training was stopped during both lockdowns!

Well done, I'm so proud of everyone who has achieved their goals this year and eternally thankful for your support ❤

A healthy young dog with RBU was euthanised. The person who requested euthanasia was not the registered keeper.

It's been a year since an anxious Bentley arrived in foster with us from Spain. We quickly fell in love with him and couldn't let him go. One year on and this reserved, anxious boy is a happy and confident star who commands attention, wherever we go. Happy gotcha day Baron Bentley Big Boy!

The Podenco Andaluz, or Andalusian Podenco varies in looks and size. Bred for hunting, as the name suggests, they originated in the Andalusia region of Spain. It’s one of the Mediterranean sighthounds directly descended from the early Egyptian hounds.

Say hi to Bentley. He will be in his way to to us as Fern and Dobby's new foster brother next week. His vocal cords have been cut at some point, so the poor lad cannot bark. He is a relatively small Podenco Ibicenco at about 20cm taller than Dobby.

We went to the dog show at yesterday and we won some rosettes. Fern got second place in Miss World, Dobby got second in Mr Universe and Fern, Dobby & Buba got third in Best Family group.
