Darla isn’t feeling well tonight. I woke up earlier to find her on the couch. She’s hardly eaten anything all day. I mentioned the word ’ride’ and she perked up and got up wanting to go. So she got excited when I put on her leash and took her to out for a night drive. I drove her to new pal and back. She stuck her head out the window most of the time. Now she’s back on the couch sleeping. ❤️

Darla is still having a lot of good days. Unfortunately, there is blood in her urine every time she goes. The Vet has allowed her to continue antibiotics and pain relievers. I'm having a time trying to trick her into taking them by hiding them in something. She's loving shredded chicken and turkey, so I'll keep cooking both. She's crazy over turkey pepperoni though I don't give her too much due to the spices. She still has playful times but times she wants to be held as I know she's feeling a bit of pain. She sleeps with her bear when she's not dragging it through the house. Took her to the park for walks last week and long rides with the window down, her favorite things.

Earlier in the week Darla had seemed fine, but the last few days she's been down again. Starting to get picky at what she eats. Every time she urinates now there is a bit of blood in it. That area does look swollen again. The antibiotic she was on for that infection worked so well to bring her around I asked the vet today if I could get more of it. I got the approval so she's back on it again so hopefully here over the weekend it'll kick in and help. Right now, she acts like she can barely move her behind. But a couple of days ago when I let her out one early morning, she caught glimpse of a squirrel in the yard, and she was like a bullet trying to get to it before it shimmied up a tree. Her energy just comes and goes.

From last Tuesday until this past Saturday, Darla seemed fine. She was running, jumping, barking, everything normal. Now all-day Sunday she just laid around not feeling well. She wouldn't hardly eat her food and just certain treats. I rubbed her head for a bit which she loved. When I stopped, she'd paw at my hand so I kept rubbing her. She's in bed wrapped around in a blanket sleeping. I'll soon join her in a bit.

UPDATE...
Yesterday, I carried Darla in to see the Vet as they wanted a urine sample. I told them if I sat her down, she'll probably p*e, so they took me to one of the rooms. As soon as girl left, I put her on the floor and seconds later she p*ed in front of the door. There were a couple of spots of blood. I told the girl, so she came in with a syringe and took a sample. While that was being tested, I waited. They were running behind, so it was a while before Dr Jean came. She looked Darla over and saw some infection, so she put her on an antibiotic. She looked at the products I had been giving Darla. She said the Alkaline drops are good. Even her husband had research about alkaline water as he has prostate cancer so he's drinking it. The DinoVite is good due to all the vitamins and minerals. The Carnovora she said was junk. I don't think so because I researched on it. Anyway, basically at this point with her bleeding now and then it's the tumor aggravating her bladder. Depending on where it is located depends how much longer she'll be around. If it's closer to the neck it will cut off her from urinating. Anyway, the tumor could be slow growing as she thinks she'll have a few more months. I'm just hoping through the holidays just like last year. Everyone said she was in great spirits so as long as she has more of the good days that's great for everyone. She'll remain on her current prescriptions and give her anything she wants.

This has been a great week for Darla. Not sure what's going on but haven't seen any bit of blood in her urine and that's fine by me. Stool is fine also. She still takes a long time to empty her bladder. I'm sure the tumor in her bladder makes her feel like she needs to go all the time because sometimes very little comes out. But she's been kicking dirt after her business then runs back into the house all happy and all. She hasn't done that in a long time. She's been playful a few times. She's gotten some of her energy back. She still has a time getting on the couch or bed, but she seems to be doing better. Not sure how long this will last but I'll take it! :) She's getting a bath later and I'm trimming her nails. She's getting spoiled!

Today was a good day for Darla. She had a bit more pep to her and she went for another ride. I saw no blood in her urine or stool. She had a few McDonald's French Fries, one of her favorites. She walked into the house with a big smile and tongue hanging out. It was a good day.🥰

Took Darla to the pet store this evening. She's losing her energy. She just stood in the cart as I push her around. Took her for a long drive out to New Pal and was going to go to the park a few miles south but it was getting too late. I'll take her there in the next day or two. She's getting to the point where it's hard for her to jump up on the couch, even with the cushions off. I did buy her a new toy tonight and she played with it for a minute or two, then just laid on the floor for a bit. I'm giving her a sedative along with her vetprofen to help her sleep at night.

I plan to use Laps of Love for her passing here at the house. Got the information I need, and I'll have the vet that comes to the house take her for cremation as well. After two weeks I can pick up her remains in a beautiful urn with a plaque. I thought for sure the Alkaline water and supplements were helping. This time last year the vet told me she would at least live past the holidays. Darla did and then some so maybe the water and pills helped extend her life. I just know now the cancer is taking over so she doesn't have long before I have to make the call.

Been giving my carpet shampooer a workout. Came home three days last week to find Darla couldn't hold it until I got home. Plus, just on and off I'm finding her p*e to have a bit of blood in it and going more often. Going to take her to the park later today. I have been taking her for a ride when I can in which she loves. I gave her a knockout pill last night, so she slept well.

Went to bed late. I left Darla sleeping on the love seat. Later she found her way into bed and laid down near my feet. Early this morning I found a wet spot by me. Darla had p*ed the bed and must have felt bad as she went back to the love seat to sleep. I found a couple more little spots where she had urinated. When I woke up, she came to me needing to go out. She went a few times before I had to leave for work. When I got home, she was all excited. I had to run to the bank, so I told her wanna go for a RIDE? That word really got her going as she talked and barked and jumped knowing she was going for a R I D E. She's still able to climb into the SUV but I have to help her to get down. I let her out for a bit, but she wanted to go back inside. She doesn't like to stay out for too long anymore. She's back in her favorite spot on the love seat, sleeping. I could stare at her all night. 🥲

Just an update on Darla. Since she's been on these products she has been very active and no issues. I'm planning to take her to the vet soon to get new x-rays to see if there are any changes to the tumors.

Dinovite finally arrived!

I’ve researched on alkaline and it’s been successful starving cancer cells until they are completely destroyed in both animals and people. 🤞🏻

I’ve always heard about Dinovite as it’s been a miracle drug for animals with an array of medical issues so I bought some in hopes in some way that both of these products will stop Darla’s cancer. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Darla had a visit with the vet today. She had blood in her stool over the weekend so that concerned me. She said the blood on her stool is from the constant diarrhea and not due to the masses in her lymph nodes. She’s going on a script to help slow the growth of the masses and tumor. I tried asking a question and broke down a little but the vet seemed to know what I was trying to ask. She said patients in the past with these tumors on this drug have lived up to another year. She said I would have Darla through the holidays for sure. I hope the next year.

This is hard to post but wanted to update everyone about Darla.

My heart grows heavy and I'm still trying to process everything. Things are happening so fast. I've decided not to put Darla through any more tests or treatments. She will be put on a drug that will help with pain and inflammation and hopefully slow the growth of the cancer so I can have a bit more time with her. She'll have bouts of energy and play through the house but now there are times where she'll just sit or lay somewhere, mainly beside me on the loveseat, where I look down and she's always watching me. This little girl has not one mean streak in her but just love in her heart. I love her so much, but my heart is breaking that the time is coming where she won't be running through the house, barking at the birds through the windows, or me tripping on her toys in the middle of the night.

This Memorial Day would have made 10 years being with her which is the day I made it her birthday since that's the day she came into my life. I don't think she's going to be around by then so I'm just going to make every day until her last the best times she's ever had. I'm going to spoil her like she's never been spoiled before.

I spoke to the vet tonight when I got home. I want her here at home when her time comes due to the blockage in her bladder so I'm contacting Lap of Love which was highly recommended by the vet to assist with her passing.

Update: X-rays showed masses around her lymph nodes near the base of her spine and stomach. A large tumor was found inside her bladder which wasn’t picked up during her first X-rays. Surgery was not recommended as it would be too invasive. I just have to watch her to make sure she has no issues urinating. Because of the cancer there could be blood in the urine but eventually the tumor will cause blockage. Not good news like I was hoping.
