As we brace for the upcoming snow and sleet, we at DogTown Kennels want to ensure that both you and your furry friends stay safe and warm. Here are some quick tips to keep your pups cozy during the chilly weather:
1. Bundle Up: Just like us, dogs can appreciate an extra layer when it’s cold out. Consider a weather-appropriate coat, especially for short-haired breeds.
2. Paw Protection: Salt and ice can be harsh on sensitive paws, so think about using dog booties or paw balm to prevent cracks and discomfort.
3. Limit Outdoor Time: Keep bathroom breaks short and try indoor activities to keep them moving without exposure to the cold.
4. Cozy Spaces: Ensure your dog has a warm spot away from drafts to curl up in with plenty of blankets or a heated dog bed.

Keeping up with vaccinations is crucial for the health and safety of all our furry guests. At DogTown, we require the following vaccinations for all our boarders:

• Bordetella
• Distemper
• Rabies

Staying current with these vaccines helps keep your pup and their furry friends safe and healthy while they play and stay with us. If you’re not sure about your pup’s vaccine status, now is a great time to check in with your vet!
