Things are getting busy! We've officially received our go-ahead from the council as of today and can't wait to see you all at some very exciting upcoming markets. We'll be buzzing away in the kitchen for the next couple of weeks in preparation for our first market out at Sedan for Christmas in July!
We know this may be a bit of a trek for many of you, but if you happen to be free on Sunday 23rd, we'd love to see you there! It's a beautiful drive and an amazing little community who are raising funds for their town hall.
There will be all sorts of stalls available such as Plants, Produce, Handmade clothes and crafts, Jewellery, and so much more, not to mention the affordable lunch options available of soup, sausage sizzle, sandwiches, cakes, and slices.

Some delicious testers we've been busy creating 😍

We will be offering range of sizes in both our infused honey as well as pure raw honey straight from Sweet Countrys beehives located all around South Australia!

Infused honey will come in
- sample size (sizing yet to be finalised)
- 80g (this will only be available upon request or for our trial ranges to see what people think before adding to our core range)
- 250g (this will be our core range size)
- 500g (for our most popular flavours in addition to the 250g)

Pure raw honey
- 250g
- 500g (glass jar)
- 500g (plastic squeeze bottle)
- 1kg (tub)
- 3kg (tub)

All honey can be ordered in all sizes upon request, for infused honey a small down payment will be required for larger sizes.

Hey guys!
Sorry we've been a bit quiet, things have been a bit chaotic behind the scenes.
Our daughter Eilish has branched out on her own with Barb to create their own little business called Sweet Honey Fusions !
Eilish and Barb have been working hard in developing delicious recipes using our honey to be able to offer an amazing range of infused honeys of various flavours.
They have many plans and ideas of what they want to offer in the future but are still very much in the early planning stages for many of these.
They will be having their first stall at Sedans Christmas in July markets on the 23rd so be sure to pop down and say hello. They will have plenty of taste testers available and will also be taking orders for anything they may not have or for custom sizes.
Make sure to give them a follow on both Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date with their plans and where you can find them.

How is beeswax made and what is it used for?
When people think of beeswax many will picture the intricate hexagonal honeycomb you often see in pictures or drawings, but do you know how it is made?
Beeswax is made by the young female bees, until they reach around 17-18 days old, when they will then begin their daily foraging trips with others from the hive. This is due to the glads responsible for the wax production slowly atrophying as the bees continue to age and mature.
Each female has 8 glands in their abdomen which produces the liquid wax. As soon as the wax hits air it will begin to harden, creating the small scale like shapes as seen pictured below. These scales are then taken by other worker bees and shaped using their mandibles to create what we know and recognise as honeycomb.
This honeycomb not only offers the perfect storage for their honey but also where the queen will lay her eggs to keep the hive growing and thriving.
Beeswax has so many amazing uses it almost feels endless! Whilst many will immediately think of candles, lip balm, beeswax wraps, etc. Some other interesting examples are wood conditioning or lubrication, water proofing and polish for things like your shoes, it can assist in rust resistance for things such as gardening tools, and it can be used in body lotion or to even make crayons for the kids along with so many more.

We are super excited to announce some new products we have been working on this last week.
In honour of going to our first market in Aberfoyle Park next month, we are trialing some new infused honeys. These will currently only be available for the market or by special order for a limited time.

Depending on the response we get some may come back as regular products or we may trail other variations so be sure to watch this space and get in quick if you see any you like!

Hello and Welcome to Sweet Country!

We are a small, family run and owned business located in South Australia. Our bees are located all over SA, allowing us to offer a great variety of different honeys.
Sweet Country started out as a hobby for Grant and Barb, however with some extra help and support from their daughters, Eilish and Gemma, and son Wayne, what was once a small hobby has grown into a small family business, offering honey to various places such as the Barossa Valley, Murraylands and Southern Suburbs of Adelaide, or you may even find us at your local farmers market.

Depending on your location pickup options are from, Aberfoyle Park 5159, Murray Bridge 5253, Mannum 5238, Nuriootpa 5355, or drop off may be available depending on your location, conditions may apply.
