Thor is well on the road to recovery . He was having his dressing removed twice a week under sedation and left sleeping to allow the leg to dry. We did this for three weeks, and circumstances were difficult for the vet to have him one day, so I proposed he sedated him at home, which he did. this was the first time that we had seen his leg since his accident. It was YUK !! oozing !! I cleaned it, and left it to dry, which was so different. We both decided that we would try to do this daily without the sedation. The first day was awful, we had to keep distracting him from trying to lick it , after a few days we were able to allow him to walk about the house without his protective cone on, he learned very quickly that he was not allowed to lick it, poor soul , we would catch him looking at it and tasting the air, a sharp NO stopped his next step. He no longer has his bandage, but we have to watch him like a hawk as he would lick it till it bled it we didn't. The skin is closing and covered in scabs, big difference to wet and oozing which it was three weeks ago.

Found a home for our big girl, Kera who came back to us at 7months, we did not actively look for a home for her as she was a good fit here, but due to Thors injury, we took the decision that he comes first , we could not risk another injury too boisterous behaviour. Our good friends Emma and Chris thought their friends would be suitable, so she left today for a trial at their home. Big Hugs to you all. ###x

Thor is on the mend. he can now lie on the bad side, he has pressure sores on his good side, which will now hopefully heal. he has started to use it to get up, and the bandage is now dryish in the morning, and is now down to get the dressing changed every 2 days.

UPDATE ON THOR

He had a temp of 106 took him back to vets on Friday morning, to discover the blood had not circulated in his leg, so his body was shutting down to the poison. His leg is rotting away, and we have to wait to see what is left of his leg after the rot stops. we are hoping there is enough left for him to have some form of leg. Fingers crossed for our roughty toughty.

Worried about Thor, he has a temp of 106 has had 20ml of antibiotic injected and is on 10 tabs a day to fight infection we think is in his leg, going back to vet sat to see if temp is dropping, if not the stookie has to come off.

Poor Thor, finally he is comfyish, Any ideas how I can get all the dirt off of him from his pre- break walk in the fields??? Bought some Batistte dry shampoo. but he sneezes when I try to spray him.

Just the wee girl left, the boy went to a lovely couple from England. They had a 400 mile journey here then back. Thank you for making the journey Diane and Family and for giving our boy a lovely home. xx

1 girl and 1 boy left. it is quieter but not quiet, when the wee ones are playing, they set the big ones off, my neighbours must be cursing us. Glad this is Thor and Storms last litter, the sadness in her eyes is heart wrenching, I just can't say no to her. She no longer allows them to feed, and is so content lying with them.

Only one little girl left, and she is my favourite, her name is sirenity she is quiet and peacefull, and has wormed her way into my heart.
We had two girls go today, and when it came to sirenity and one other,my heart sank when the lady loved her then soared when her wee boy wanted the other playfull one.
LOVE IS BOUNDLESS. ######XX

Thor the reserve place at the SKC, with 8 in his class. I am quite pleased with this as he is dropping his coat and looked like he had alopicia.... He was so excited to be at a show, he behaved like he was on L*D. lol He even managed to trip me up and I went flat on my face. ( SO EMBARASSED )he was the only dog that did not run without trying to turn round to see who was chasing him , lol. All in All, it wa a good day. wonder what he will be like when he grows up, hopefully he will settle down and look calm and relaxed like the others.
