R&R Treats

With firework night coming up, these are just a few ways in which you can help your dog if they're not a fan. Your dogs senses are much more sensitive that ours meaning- loud bangs, high pitched noises, flashes of light and the smell of fireworks can be scary for our four-legged friends!
1- Keep dogs inside, sounds obvious right? Take them out for a walk, when it is still light outside, less chance of getting caught out! 🦮
2- Play classical music, ClassicFM's Pet Classics can be very calming, or you can find calming playlists on youtube. 🎶🎵
3- Make a den, throw it back to your childhood find as many pillows and blankets as you can! Climb inside the den with your dog, make it fun for you both ⛺️
4- Close doors, windows & curtains, again, sounds obvious right? Where you can try and block out the flashing lights by closing the curtains. 🚪🪟
5- Calming plug-ins, you can get these from your local pet shops 🔌
6- Comfort them! Give them some fuss, reassure them its going to be ok, give them all the love they deserve! They are your best friend after all! 💛

I am very aware I have been missing in action recently. After Paws in the Park, my attention shifted to Mr R&R and his body building competition!💪 Now he has completed that (and been very successful) I thought it was time to re-introduce myself, who I am and what R&R is all about!

I'm Lucy and I am the very proud owner of R&R, a small business, focusing on low-fat, natural dog treats. Not only do I run R&R, I am a full time teacher, and have been for the last 5 years👩‍🏫 (My first year 1 class are currently in Year 6 and it makes me feel a little sick that they can be that old 🤯). Finally I am crazy dog mum to my two darling Labradors Remi and Rex🦮🦮 (R&R- get it?!).

My crazy pair are the inspiration behind the business. Lots of the treats we buy from pet shops or supermarkets, are full of lots of ingredients that aren't needed to keep our dogs healthy, despite the packaging advertising 'healthy' treats. When you actually look at what they contain, they are full of extra rubbish that does in fact NOT keep your dogs healthy!❌ I decided it was time to start researching into healthy treats, things dogs need in their diet and what they don't need in their diet. ✅After lots of trial and error plus lots of input from my very helpful taste testers the original range came about- keeping it simple and plain, Sweet Potato🍠, Carrot🥕 and Apple Rings🍎, these have now been tried and tested by lots of doggies across the UK and we have had some amazing feedback.

R&R is in fact now a year old and this past year of R&R, all the craft markets, PTA fairs, unpaid hours of work, the good, the not so good and online sales have taught me a lot! I am constantly trying to build my brand and share my knowledge with other dog owners (or anyone that will listen really!) to try and put a stop to pet shops and supermarkets 'healthy' treats
