“VOLCANO” pt. I
We did it! On 19th March a volcano eruption started in Reykjanes peninsula and since day one I had a tiny hope of having a horse photoshoot related to the eruption. A plan was set in motion, but due to ever changing conditions we experienced quite a few setbacks. In order to organize such complicated photoshoot we had to have so many things in mind - first and foremost of course the safety of both humans and horses, the accessibility to area, weather conditions and much more! Easier said than done! But yesterday, on 13th May everything came together and we finally made it! We started the day early, leaving the city before 6AM, next up we had a hike to the eruption area. The feeling when arriving at the location is impossible to describe in words! The mother nature is truly amazing - besides the spectacular views, what amazed me the most were the sounds coming off the volcano! One had to experience it to truly understand! Funnily enough, the horses could not be bothered the slightest about what was going on around them! Obviously we stayed a safe distance away from the volcano itself!
The photoshoot was done in collaboration with Horses of Iceland
More photos will be published soon!
