The 2024 Lousiville Koi and Goldfish Show was a very humbling and gracious experience this year. I did very well in the show and will have more pics of my fish coming later. But took home the following awards:

Grand Champion- Tri-Colored Oranda < 3” (which goes to show sometimes Quality beats out size”
Baby Champion- Special Variety Fantail < 3”
Reserve Baby Champion- Single Tail Tamasaba < 3”
Best in size Over 3” - Eye Growth Broadtail Demekin > 3”
Best In Variety Ranchu/Lionhead - Lion Head > 3”
Best in Variety Eye Growth - Demekin > 3”
Best in Variety Pearlscale - Crown Dragon Eye Pearlscale < 3”

Black/blue color in goldfish.... not all lines maintain their black/blue. I have found black/blues to be one of the most unstable colors to maintain over the life time of the fish. Which is often when I see a black/blue or “panda” colored fish; I ask myself, “Will you like this fish if it’s Red and White? When I found my Oranda Bandit I answered yes to that question and even though it took over two years to turn red and white she did. I have enjoyed all of her color changes and grooming her body. It has been like I have had three or four fish in this one.
