As I get updates, pictures, and videos from each family sharing how their dinosaur is doing, it's not just the joy and relief that they're all doing wonderfully. Of course I'm delighted by this news.

But, for me, the best part is the laughter of their humans in the videos. The absolute joy that each of these little gems has brought home with them. You can't fit that in a go home bag.

And it's suddenly very quiet in here... 🥺

Chomper is excited to play with all his siblings: dog, kids, cats, and chickens. He'll be the bestest little big brother (we just know it) and is ready for all the adventures they'll have together.

Gaia (previously Littlefoot) is ready to play some nosework and hit the trails with her Sheltie sister. We're now taking bets on how long it takes before the two of them are working together to accomplish masterful mischief.

Aaaaand they're off!

Spike, now Mac (short for Macaroni and Cheese or Macaron depending on who you ask), joins his big sister Buttermilk Biscuit to be the best cuddly buddy anyone could ask for. He'll enjoy trick training and plenty of snacks. Lots and lots of snacks.

Strut, whose name is in the works, is hoping he'll get to be a therapy dog for crisis response. It's a big job, but we think he can do it. He'll also enjoy running on the beach with his brother and sister, and may dabble in agility and rally depending on what he wants to do. Since he's got such a big important job, his momma is taking special care in selecting a name for him.

Petrie (now Bones) is off to play with his two new brothers and family. This guy loves to play as much as he loves kiddos so we're sure he's going to have a blast. Bones is hoping to play flyball and may participate in 4H pending kiddo interest.

Aaaaand he's off!

Ozzy went home today with a mission: to convince his little big sister to play with him. It didn't take very long at all. 😜 He's going to be enjoying plenty of hiking and is hoping to try out performance sports like agility and rally.

Oh, and lots more playing with little big sister. 💚

This weekend two of our little Dinosaurs went off to their new homes, and of course, we had to make an official send off photo for Dexter & Minion. 😁

💜Bubbles, now smile, is off to live with Papa Weller & family. She'll enjoy dabbling in sports and all the belly rubs the world can offer.
💛Ducky will keep her name, she's gonna go rock agility and will dabble in rally and lure coursing.
💚Minion is most looking forward to cuddles and lure coursing. They'll also dabble in rally.

We've done all we can to set these three up for success in their lives to come and look forward to all the updates, stories, and photos to come.

We are eight weeks old today!

We've been practicing falling to sleep in our crates after dinner, learning about walking on leash, seeing the world, and continue to impress with our indoor potty skills.

Eight weeks marks the start of the critical fear period. This is a time when puppies are suddenly worried or afraid of things, especially those that they were not worried about previously. I prefer to refer to it as the fear imprint window, because scary things that happen within this fear period have a tendency to stick around forever. We've found that sighthounds are especially sensitive in critical fear and this is why we hold on to puppies until they are a bit older and through the most sensitive part of their critical fear period. 😊💕

Five of the nine are off on their first sleepover. They are disappointed to learn that pizza boxes at other people's houses don't have pizza in them either. 🥺

Sleepovers expose puppies to new places, people, and things. They get to practice sleeping away from home with the comfort of littermates and Poki gets to practice time away from babies.

Spike, Strut, Petrie, Bubbles, and Littlefoot will be back home on the 26th. Enjoy your vacation little dinosaurs!

I didn't get nearly enough photos, but yesterday we went to visit Uncle Appa and his brother cats! Major Muffins showed everyone how to properly use a box and Colonel Cupcakes joined us for a picnic lunch kibble scatter on the floor. These two kitties are really something special and I think Major might think he's actually a dog.
The Dinosaurs just accepted these two new kinda funny looking Dinosaurs into their family and just continued about their usual business, but with cats. It was very cute.
Littlefoot earned a (very gentle) Bap for tail biting crimes, and took notes that cats communicate with their feet? And then she spent a good bit of time trying to communicate with Major by waving at him. She was not successful in tempting him into play, more experiments in communicating with kitties are needed.

Today we are six weeks old and we learned the names of our new siblings. 😏 (Except in the case of Bubbles and Treestar, they learned their be staying with Mom or Dad)

Time is sure flying by, they are growing too fast! 😭

(Names of dogs in each household for placements were used instead of family names for privacy. As an added side note, I generally try to keep all posts on this page neutral but the idea of puppies in stockings was too cute to pass up.)
