Lucy and I remember what it was like to walk into an animal rescue abroad and feel a bit overwhelmed with the different cases we were working with. In order to make your future volunteer experiences easier, we’re discussing each and every disease and ailment that we have encountered on our trips. We hope this episode can help you feel a bit more prepared, and give you the opportunity to study up on some things we think you should know! ❤️ (keep in mind that we are a vet tech/nurse combo, so we will only be discussing things from that standpoint)

Don’t forget that our Etsy shop is live and filled with all kinds of travel goodies! Here’s a couple examples of the shirts that are available ❤️ 25% of all proceeds between Aug 12-Sept 12 will go to an animal rescue of your choice, giveaway style. Just DM , or comment the name and link to your favorite animal rescue, and we will choose from the submitted rescues at random on September 12! We want to hear which rescues you are passionate about, and would love to help them continue their awesome work! ❤️

Hello! I’m Lucy (aka the travelling veterinary nurse!) and when at home in the UK I work as a referral nurse in a busy hospital.
I love combining my two passions of travelling and veterinary nursing, and I aim to encourage and inspire more RVNs to travel and volunteer as there are so many rescues and animals that need our help!
I have been on five projects abroad so far, including neutering projects in Spain, Sardinia and Morocco, as well as helping a rescue in Estonia and doing conservation work in South Africa. I can’t wait to be back out doing some more projects soon!

Time to meet the creators of Let’s Travel - Vet Med Style Podcast!

Hi there! My name is Amber. I’m a Licensed Vet Tech in the US and a full time traveler! After working in the veterinary field for almost 10 years, I took my career online in order to travel the world full time and work with animal rescues in need. When I’m not at my laptop writing, you can find me somewhere in the world cuddling every furry friend I can find. Though I’ve mostly traveled SEA, I am starting my adventure in Ecuador next week! ❤️

Check out while she’s hard at work at The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust. Emily is currently living in Gambia, where she’s providing full time care to the many animals that cross their path!

This charity not only helps to reduce poverty in rural areas by increasing the productivity of working horses and donkeys through welfare and management training, but also provides 24 hour care for any other animal that may need their assistance! We are blown away by their incredible work! ❤️
