Hey everyone!

As you all know we started this page last fall when we went from rescuing the odd rabbit here and there to taking in a large number rabbit hoarding situation. And since have choosen to stay very small on intake amount. We had originally used our farm page as our platform to rehome any rescues but wanted to keep the rescue separate online. However, of course that comes with another platform for us to post on, which I fail at juggling and keeping all social media pages active.
Long story short, Bunny Butt Rescue Buns will now be posted over on our hobby farm page Story Book Homestead along with all our other animal fun.

All contracts will remain as is for Bunny Butt Adopted out bunnies and adoption contracts will remain as Bunny Butt Rescue moving forward.
Our website will remain open, our contact info remains the same - we ask for all further messages to be sent to the hobby farm page about any rescues or adoptions.

If you wish to continue following, head over to the hobby farm page OR you can keep checking our website for any updates.

Happy hopping everybun!

As you have all been waiting for, a proper introduction of Miss Poppy!

Poppy is a blue eyed white lionlop female.
We have spent the last few weeks trying to track her orgins as she does have a tattoo. Unfortunately it has worn off just a bit to much for our vet to track down. All the numbers we have tried aren't her. Unfortunately we do not know her orginal owners and without her tattoo we don't have access to her past info.

So let's get into what we do know about Miss Poppy!
Poppy arrived in awful condition. Her nails were the longest I have ever seen * seen post below *. She was very underweight and covered in skin deep matts that had to be shaven in several spots. As one would expect, she was very nervous.
Over the last few weeks we have gotten some very much needed weight onto her and will keep her on unlimited pellets under we feel her weight is 100%.

Poppy has since came out of her shell, began to explore more, hops on and off the sofa and shows signs of a regular house bunny. It is clear at one point in her life this princess was loved, unfortunately we don't know what happened inbetween then and now.
She doesn't mind or have interest in dogs or cats. She would do best in a home with older children.
She is believed to be 1 year old
No knowledge on experience with other rabbits.

Poppy will head to her new home with all the works. Her large cage she arrived in, litter box, water bottle and dishes and some toys.
She will have transition hay and pellets.
She has been health checked, dewormed and received a coccidia preventive.

The newest rescue has arrived to Bunny Butt and if she could talk, I am sure she'd have lots of stories to tell. Here is a slow introduction.

New name for her brand new start, meet Poppy the blue eyed white lion-lop female.

Poppy was abandoned by her first owner, left behind when they moved. She was taken in by another person but needed to quickly find a new situation. So thankful to the two lovely ladies who helped get her into rescue- one for making the arrangements to get Poppy and the other for making the drive from Winnipeg to Gladstone to get her into rescue!

Unfortunately we have no details on Poppys history, but it is clear that it's been sometime since Poppy was properly cared for. I have never seen nails this long before and she was covered in mats. I can't imagine the pain she felt by simply standing or hopping. Some of the nails were broken right down, likely having caught on something and ripped. So heartbreaking.

Poppy does have a tattoo, which seems to be a vet tattoo - though unfortunately it has faded to much that our vet is unable to find it in the system.

Poppy is all groomed, health checked and dewormed. She is overall in good health other then needing to put some weight on.

She is very shy and nervous for the first couple minutes, but sit still for a bit and she will be in your lap. We took some time on the grass today and she was in her glory. She is adorable!

She's gonna have a short stay with us to make sure all is well and stays well due to the stress she's been put under. Then she will be looking for her forever family. I'll make an official update adoption post at that time.

** ADOPTED **

Snacks and Shoe were adopted last week, at no fault of their own they needed to be returned after a family situation. Notes from the family was that the bunnies were great, which yes - yes they are.

It was a quick trial homing for us people, but for bunnies it is a very stressful moving, driving, new faces and excitement and pets. So I am being extra cautious over our dear snacks - who turns what they think to be FIVE this month!!!

Bunnies can live up to 8-12 years!! So Snacks has some amazing years left of her that will be filled with love and snuggles for her forever family - which I knowwwww is out there somewhere! Snacks just wants to explore and adventure on through life with you, I bet that he'd make the perfect candidate for a bunny harness and walks in the yard.
