The girls were busy today. Great day for them to be out and about.

The new Queen just arrived from Orland California. She shipped out via UPS yesterday and she is here today. Marked with a yellow dot, she will be the queen of the new colony established from the split of our "Monster Hive". We might even have to do another split of the "Monster" as big as it is.

Feeding and a quick hive inspection tonight. Watch for 5:56 on the second video to see this hives queen.

Its been a pretty good winter as the Bee's survived this year. One of the hives is extremely large so, we will be doing a hive split soon creating another colony with a new queen. Should be a great year for the Bee's.

On Monday we extracted 5 gallons of Honey from our 2020 season. Running it through the strainer to make sure all the wax capings are gone. We will be bottling soon. Stay tuned.

Had a few frames of honey from 2020 that we froze. We harvested those frames today to make some room in the freezer. Put the frames in the yard for the girls to clean up. This little girl was checking me out while I was taking her picture. Lol

These girls have adjusted well and are really working. Two of the strongest hives we have had in the last 3 years.

So it's Bee Season 2021. We lost a couple of hives over the winter due to a little mite called the Varroa Mite. Its kind of like a tick would be for a human, only deadly to the Bee's. So I installed two new hives today and started their feeding of sugar syrup as the build up the colony. Both hives seem strong with healthy Queens. Here is a video and a couple photos..

Wont Bee long now. Spring time is coming!!!!🐝

Found some racoon p**p near our hives on Tuesday. This guy showed up lastnight. Now to discourage future visits while protecting our bees and the racoon.

All ready for winter. Candy boards and moisture control installed. "See you next spring girls"!
