Summer is here which means so is the heat! Banner and I were out walking this morning and we bumped into a fellow dog owner who was out walking without her dog. When I inquired about her dog she mentioned that dog had burned her paws on some hot asphalt this week and was not going to be able to walk for a few days while they heal. OUCH!

Here are a few tips to help protect your dogs paws from the heat. If you can, walk your dog early before the concrete and black top have time to heat up from the sun all day. Stay on the grass if it's already hot outside. You can try a paw wax like the dog mushers use to protect from snow and ice, it also can help with hot surfaces like hot concrete or hot sand. Finally you can always try dog shoes/boots! Have a save and happy summer with your dog and keep those paws healthy!

I hope everyone is ready for summer. Banner and I got out early this morning to beat the heat. It was a nice 75 degrees at sunrise.

For those of you with new puppies we just received new inventory of Scratch 'n Scram. The new vinyl is a slightly more pliable then the last which is nice for those odd edges and trim pieces.
