Meet Cleveland, a sweet and affectionate boy estimated to be around 4 years old and weighing 42 pounds. Despite dealing with flea dermatitis, which has left his skin needing some extra care, Cleveland’s spirit is as strong as ever! 🐾
Cleveland is a powerful guy who can be a bit much to handle at first, but once he gets to the play pen, he’s all about blowing off steam. He’s a bit particular about his toys, but we’ve noticed he’s got a special fondness for the Kong Wubba. 🧸
This handsome boy loves scratches and is incredibly affectionate. He’s also treat-motivated and takes them gently, showing off his good manners. Cleveland knows how to sit and lay down, but we’re sure he’d love to learn more in his forever home!
Cleveland is a happy, laid-back yet playful pup just waiting to enrich a lucky home. Bring your whole family (cats in a hard carrier) for a meet and greet, and see if Cleveland is the one for you! 🏡❤️

We love this dog’s wrinkles and happy personality 😍 Meet Rita, an adorable and extra sweet girl estimated to be around 5 years old and weighing 48 pounds. 🐾 She might have a mix of boxer, shar pei, and pit, which gives her a unique and lovable appearance!
When Rita first gets out of her kennel, she’s a little jumpy and full of energy, but after a bit, she settles into a nice loose-lead walk. She absolutely *loves* squeaky toys and enjoys running off her energy in a fenced-in yard. Her tail is always wagging, often in a full circle, showing just how happy she is! 😄
Rita is treat-motivated and takes them ever so gently. Right now, she seems to know how to sit, but with her playful and forever-puppy personality, she’s eager to learn more! She also reacts well to other dogs passing by the playpen, showing her friendly nature. 🐶
Rita is not only playful but also cuddly, frequently looking up to show the whites those sweet eyes! She loves love 🥰 If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and loyal companion, Rita might just be the perfect fit! Bring your whole family (cats in a hard carrier) for a meet and greet and see if this happy girl is the one for you! 🏡❤️

Fish’s last video got lots of attention but no one has come to save him 🥺 Volunteers are reporting he is depressed and does nothing but lay in his crate and stares at nothing 😭
There’s nothing Fish-y about this guy! Fish is a sweet youngster who loves humans and treats 😋. He’s a little bonkers when he first gets out due to excess energy, but we think he’s just trying to get eye level to show his love 🥰. Fish already knows several commands and would do basically anything for a treat, so training should be a breeze!
Poor Fish is displaying some neurological issues. It’s unclear if he was born with them, kept in a crate too small, or possibly had head trauma. He tends to walk in circles, but volunteer Shayna says he’s improving 🙌. Fish does some high steps with his feet and got “stuck” on the agility equipment, needing to be led down with a treat. It doesn’t seem to bother him or hinder him in any way, so we think he’ll live a happy life with a patient owner 🥰.
We hope Fish’s special needs don’t scare off potential adopters - he’s just a little wonky 😆. He still knows how to love and do tricks for treats. If you're looking for a loving companion who’s a bit unique, come meet Fish and see the joy he can bring to your life! 🐾❤️

Meet Manor, a tall drink of water with legs built for the Olympic high jump—we're pretty sure he'd take home the gold! 🥇 As a young shepherd mix, Manor is bursting with energy and might seem a bit cuckoo when he first comes out of his kennel. He's jumpy, bonkers, and has the attention span of a cornflake, but don’t let that fool you! Once we burned off some of that energy with tricks and toys, Manor showed off his super smarts. He already knows sit, paw, and down, and he’s eager to learn more! 🤓
Manor is a natural on the agility equipment, climbing and jumping with enthusiasm, especially when there's a treat involved. After some playtime in the pen, he was a dream to walk—barely pulling, except for that one time he spotted a french fry on the sidewalk! 🍟 He even posed for us, showing off his nice manners. Manor also showed a healthy interest in other dogs outside of the pen, so please *always* bring yours in for a meet and greet to ensure compatibility. Cats are unknown, so they’ll need to be brought in a hard carrier.
This boy is bursting with potential! With some brain games and training, Manor is sure to become a polished gentleman. 🧐 Don’t delay—he’s ready to go home today!

You must hate to hear it by now but Lumpy too is struggling in the shelter with self chewing 💔 PLEASE SHARE & VOLUNTEER!
VOLUNTEER FAVORITE 😍 Meet Lumpy! 🐾 This sweet boy, estimated to be around 5 years old, knows what’s expected of him and is eager to please. 🐶 Lumpy walks well on a leash once his initial excitement wears off, making him a great companion for strolls. Currently underweight and losing more due to the stress of the shelter environment, Lumpy has also shown signs of self-chewing. HE NEEDS A HERO 🦸♂️
Lumpy loves toys and shares them so well, showing his gentle nature. He’d be quick to pick up on fetch. This boy will probably need a home without other dogs as he’s spent a long time in the shelter and he seems sick of dogs. Bring your whole family to meet this boy who is happiest when he’s with people. Once his cooped-up energy dissipates, he’s an incredibly calm, affectionate boy, offering endless love and companionship. 🥰🏡✨ Don’t wait!

Today marks one whole year since Tikki arrived at the shelter 💔 A first in our 6 years at SCDW for a dog to wait this long. We know you’ve shared her so much, but we’re asking again to PLEASE SHARE far and wide 🙏 Her home needs to come soon for her! She’s waited long enough 🥺
BIO: Tikki was adopted briefly and returned after an effort to introduce her to a home with other animals. Though it didn't work out, we learned some valuable things about her. She needs a home with NO other animals. She loves having her own space and has a prey drive around small animals. But she does good with the “leave it” command and ignoring others and can even be in the same vicinity as dogs when leashes are involved. When it comes to humans, she absolutely LOVES them! She wants to be a lapdog, soaking in all the love, cuddles, and kisses 🥰
A secure, fenced-in backyard would be perfect for Tikki. She loves to play, run, and lounge in the sunshine ☀️. She walks well on a harness and loves to explore!
There has to be a perfect home for Tikki! Please share her posts so they can find her 🥰. Tikki has been looking for her happy ending since August 17, 2023 💔. This breaks our hearts because Tikki is clearly used to a home and family. Estimated to be about 5-6 years old, she has the perfect balance of energy! She loves to have fun but also settles down well 😊 Tikki has trouble deciding between cuddles and playtime when she first gets out, but ultimately, the zoomies take over! She enjoys playing in the playpen and takes good care of the toys, sharing nicely too!
If you’re ready for a fun, mature, and affectionate companion, Tikki might be the perfect fit for you 🥰❤️.

UPDATE: ADOPTED 🐾 Meet Low Rider! 🐾 This stocky, short-legged cutie is about 3 years old and weighs around 48 pounds. We knew he’d be adopted quickly because he’s so cute, but unfortunately, it was the wrong family for him, and he was brought back the same day. Focusing on the positive, Low Rider had lots of interest, and we’re hopeful he’ll find the forever family of his dreams soon! 🌟
Low Rider is a very happy and social boy who loves being the center of attention. He’s fun, playful, and always ready for a good time! 🎉 He loves that everyone wants to stop and pet him and tell him what a handsome boy he is 🥰
He is dominant with other dogs, so meet and greets are a must to ensure he’s the right fit. He’s likely not suited for a home with cats, but you can try with a meet and greet by bringing them in a hard carrier. 🐾 This strong boy will need some training, as he has a bit of a leg-humping habit. With time, consistency, and training from his future family, this behavior should stop. He also just got neutered within the last week.
Please go meet this handsome ham, but only commit if you’re ready for a forever relationship! 💖

Needing some peace this Wednesday morning? How relaxing does this look 🥰 Meet Nefertiti, a 5-year-old, 42-pound sweetheart who’s hoping for a forever home where she can truly be the queen! 👑 This lovely lady has already been returned once, and we’re determined to find her a home where that won’t happen again. Nefertiti adores every human she meets and is full of love to give.
The shelter is recommending a home without other dogs. We’re unsure about cats, but you can bring them in a hard carrier for a meet and greet to see how she does. Nefertiti is very chill, laid-back, and walks well on a leash, making her the perfect companion for a relaxed and loving home. We didn’t get to spend as much time with her as we’d like because the shelter is so full, but it’s clear that Nefertiti is ready to be someone’s loyal and loving best friend. Could that be you? 🏡❤️

Why hasn’t this sweet shepherd been adopted?! Winnie is a sensitive soul. She is so gentle and comes off a little shy. We discovered she is not a fan of walking near cars whizzing by and will need a gentle leader to help her overcome her fears. ❤️ Once Olivia sat in the grass, Winnie only took about a minute to warm up to her with treats and a quiet voice. 🥹 She flopped over, rolling in the grass and taking all the belly rubs in ❤️
Winnie is smart and already showed us she knows sit and down. She has been returned a couple times for having issues with other animals in the home. She needs a home with no kitties and she may be dog selective. Bring any resident dogs in for a meet n greet prior to adoption. Winnie needs someone who will be patient and kind. She will learn quickly with the help of some yummy treats 😋 Winnie has SO much potential and we want her to be her very best self. Give her some time to open up when you meet her and you’ll be so glad you did. Don’t delay, she needs a FOREVER home today 🩷

Meet Tyler, a handsome fella estimated to be around 3 years old and weighing in at 57 pounds. 🐾 When he first arrived at the shelter, Tyler was a bit reserved, but that seems to have worn off. The shelter staff found that all it takes to win him over is some good butt scratches, which he absolutely loves! 🥰
Tyler was a good boy during his bath, even though he seemed a bit unsure—maybe it was his first one? He’s also positive for Lyme disease, but don’t worry, the shelter has started him on antibiotics, and it’s not contagious.
This playful guy is treat-motivated and already knows how to sit and lay down. We were asking him to shake, and he adorably responded by laying down as if to say “I don’t know that, but I know this!” 😂 Tyler also reacts well to other dogs outside the fence, showing potential for getting along with a furry sibling.
If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and smart companion, Tyler might just be the perfect fit! Bring your whole family (cats in hard carrier) in for a meet and greet and see if Tyler is the one for you. 🏡❤️

Looking for a fun-loving, loyal buddy? 🤩 Meet Rocky, a young shepherd mix with energy to spare! This boy comes barreling out the gate at 100 mph, ready for action. Weighing in at 60 pounds, Rocky needs someone who understands the needs of a shepherd: plenty of exercise and structure. After being trapped following weeks on the run, Rocky was initially very nervous but is now learning that humans are friends 🥹
Rocky is still learning how to be a dog. He LOVES playing tug with a rope toy and running in the big pen. However, he doesn’t yet know his size and needs to learn not to jump up or plow into you at full speed, making him a bit too much for small children. He will need training but he comes with two free training sessions through our friends at Hopebridge RTA to get you started! 🐕
Toys can be overwhelming for Rocky when he first gets out, but we found that mental games like “find it” with treats work wonders. He’s SUPER gentle when taking treats, showing his sweet side. In his calmer moments, Rocky walks well on a leash and really hams it up for the camera. He already knows sit and lay down!
With an owner who understands his needs, Rocky has SO much potential ❤️ Come meet him, give him some time to burn off his excess energy, and you’ll see the same diamond in the rough that we see 💎

King says “what’s a friendly, fun boy like me have to do to get noticed??”
How is this handsome fetch-loving boy still available?! 🤯 Calling all shepherd lovers - say hello to King! At only about 50 pounds, this 3 year old boy is like a mini German shepherd! 🐕 King’s greatest love is to play fetch.. we’re convinced he’d play fetch all day if you would! All he needs are some chuck-it balls and a human to throw them for him! 🎾 King was adopted last year and was picked up as a stray. His owner was in some trouble, so he had to surrender King back to the shelter. King is now looking for stability and someone who can commit to him.
Kings loves in order are: balls > people who throw balls > treats > pets. We can tell he knows to utilize his time out because he just wanted to play. The shelter reports he’s housebroken and a fence jumper so will need an owner willing to keep an eye on him or finding an alternate way of confinement. He’s a very social and friendly boy - the more hands to throw his ball!! We think he loves the ball so much you could use it for training! When Olivia had two balls we could get him to bring one back over and over which burned some of that energy. King would be SO happy with a fenced in yard to run in. He needs some leash work as he is a weaver 😆 but know he’d pick up on it quickly. He didn’t mind other dogs walking by so bring yours in for a meet and greet (and/or cats in a hard carrier) to make sure everyone is compatible 🥰
This super boy deserves a happy, stable home and doesn’t deserve to be in a shelter. King is going to be a fun and happy companion for an active family. Come meet him soon! You won’t regret it!

The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501c3
The shelter is BURSTING with dogs of all types - big, small, active, lazy, young, old… and if you’re looking for a thick low rider? Scrappie is your girl!
Scrappie came into the shelter very worried about her situation. Once she realized we had treats and toys, she decided it wasn’t so bad after all. Her favorite toys are round and roll-y. She trots around the pen with a soccer ball toy as if saying “look at this!!” Then she loved to chase the hard jolly balls as we kicked them for her. ❤️ she didn’t want to leave the play pen but with so many dogs, we had to keep our playtime short 💔
Scrappie is very, very strong and needs some leash work so a fenced in yard might be helpful to blow off some steam. She also seems somewhat choosy about the dogs next to her in pens. She did come in with another dog, so we do think she has potential with the right one. 🐶 she is a vocal player and just kept running back over for pets 🥹 Scrappie seems to just be starting to learn how to “dog” so she is going to be amazing to see flourish.
If you're looking for a playful and active companion, Scrappie might just be the perfect fit for you! Bring your whole family (cats in a hard carrier) to meet this wonderful girl and see if she’s the one for you.

Camelot, also known as Pops, is estimated to be around 2 years old and about 66 pounds. 🐶✨ We met this handsome boy in passing, and he quickly won our hearts! His cage notes say he's housebroken and likes to graze on his food all day long—talk about self-control! 😄🍽️
Pops is a sweet boy who is looking for a home without small children (due to not knowing his size) and without other male dogs. 🏠 He was very social and treat-motivated during his photo shoot, happily posing for pictures and showing off his charming personality. 📸🍪

Titus is an English Pointer mix, estimated to be about 3 years old and around 52 pounds. 🐕🎾 We met this handsome boy in passing after he'd been having a blast playing fetch in the play pen. Titus not only loves playing fetch but he's also quite the pro at it, eagerly returning the toy to you! 🏃♂️✨
His cage notes say he's good on walks and very sweet, though a bit of training would be beneficial—who doesn’t need a little training now and then? 🐾💖 Titus is friendly, with "very" underlined to emphasize just how much he loves meeting new people! He keeps his cage clean and is ready for a loving home where he can continue to show off his fetching skills and sweet nature. 🏡❤️

Judge
UPDATE: ADOPTED 🐾 Judge is hoping you judge him to be your type of dog! 🐾 We met this absolutely handsome boy in passing and can tell his personality matches his adorable looks. Judge is estimated to be about 3 years old and a boxer mix around 62 pounds. He arrived at the shelter on July 9th and is eager to get out of here. Hating being cooped up, he comes out with more energy and strength than he probably normally has. Make sure you give him time to calm down in order for his personality to truly shine. 🌟
Judge keeps his cage clean for long hours and is eager to use the bathroom right away. He's treat-motivated and at least knows "sit." What else can you teach him? He loves to play in the play pen and would love a fenced-in yard of his own. 🏡 He returns balls and would make a great fetching buddy. 🎾
Are you ready to give Judge the forever home he deserves? Come meet him at SCDW and let him show you how great life can be with a loyal, playful companion by your side! ❤️🐶

Shake Bake
This boy is absolutely terrified by the shelter environment 🥺 Does that mean he was once a spoiled and loved dog shocked by his new environment? We can only speculate, but thankfully, the staff gave Shake Bake time to calm down. He spent a long time without ever coming out of his cage, but finally, one brave day, he did, and volunteers are continuing to work with him. 🌟 He's learning that things are not so scary here but still has a ways to go.
Shake Bake will probably be so relieved once he realizes he's adopted, though his decompression period may be a little more intense than the average dog. Shake Bake feels things deeply, including love and trust. Once you're his friend, he's happy to be by your side and get pets. 🥰 You can try to bribe him with treats; after a while of being in your presence, he will gladly take them ever so gently from you. 🍖 Don’t forget every dog comes with 2 free session with @hopebridgeRTA should you need them.
Shake Bake knows how to sit and waited so well while we took his photo. 📸 He's estimated to be about 3 years old, so he probably has a good idea of what's expected of him manners-wise. He will probably continue being scared of new experiences and loud noises in his future home, but he seems to have potential with other dogs. 🐶 Perhaps a confident friend can help show Shake Bake that the world is not such a scary place?
Bring your whole family in for a meet and greet (cats in a hard carrier). We would love if this boy's stay was as short as possible. Can you rescue him from this horrible nightmare and give him the loving home he deserves? 🏡❤️Adopters should research post-adoption decompression and the rule of 3: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine and 3 months to start to feel at home.

UPDATE: ADOPTED! 🐾 Meet Diego! 🐾 This big lover is available today and ready to find his forever home! 🏡 At 3 years old and about 80 pounds, Diego was too scared to come out for the first couple of days at the shelter. He would pancake on the floor trying to make himself as small as possible 🥺 it was a good effort but the volunteers saw past it. Once he decided to trust, we discovered just how sweet he is 🥰
Diego just wants to be loved and get all the attention he seems to be used to. When Olivia sat down on the ground, he tried to crawl into her lap like a baby! 🐶 But this silly mastiff has some tricks up his sleeve though. The shelter found out he can jump a 6' fence with ease when left alone and even let himself back into the building… they found him laying on a bed he found! 😂
Diego seems to have potential with other dogs, as he wasn't reactive towards others. Bring the whole family (cats in a hard carrier) for a meet and greet to see if this goofball is the perfect fit for your home. 🐕🐈

Don’t forget every dog comes with 2 free session with Hopebridge RTA should you need them. Adopters should research post-adoption decompression and the rule of three: three days to decompress, three weeks to learn your routine and three months to start to feel at home.
