The Shelter Pet Studio The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit helping pets find forever homes through photography & other media. Sharing is caring 💞🐾

Partnering with other organizations, primarily Stark County Dog Warden in Canton OH, we work to end pet homelessness. The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to helping pets find their forever homes through professional photography, videography, and social media. Our team of passionate volunteers creates beautiful, genuine portraits that showcase each pet’s unique personality—off

ering a view far different from the scared or anxious faces they wear in a kennel. Since our founding, we’ve helped hundreds of pets put their best paw forward, connecting them with loving families. Our mission goes beyond just photography; we partner with other nonprofits to promote their adoptable pets and amplify their efforts. We believe that only by working together can we truly tackle pet homelessness in our community. Thank you for helping us continue this important work! Do you know a dog or cat that needs some "extra oomph" to find a home? We will work with any shelter or rescue in and around the Akron-Cleveland Area. Email us at [email protected]

The way to Banker’s heart is treats 🥰 As a doggie who is not a fan of the snow or cold weather, he wants a cozy home of his own ❤️ This boy is around 1 year old and came to the shelter in rough shape, infested with fleas and underweight 🥺 Despite his tough start, he was such a good boy for his bath and treatment! Banker is still pretty scared of the shelter environment but shows lots of glimmers of his sweet personality 🥰

This sensitive pup isn’t a fan of the cold AT ALL but bravely goes out to potty—and he loved wearing a Santa coat for extra warmth! While too nervous for toys right now, he takes treats gently, adores butt scratches, and even gave us small kisses.

Banker is eager to leave the shelter and learn how to be someone’s best friend. He’s looking for a loving family to help him gain confidence and show him the joy of being a cherished companion. Could you be the one to make Banker’s dreams come true? 🏡❤️ Bring your whole family (cats in a hard carrier) in for a meet and greet!

Every dog comes with donated, free training sessions with local trainers: Cosmic K9 (2 sessions) and Hoperidge RTA (1 session). Adopters should research post-adoption decompression and the rule of 3: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn your routine and 3 months to start to feel at home.

The Shelter Pet Studio is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit run by volunteers, independent from the shelters we assist. SPS writes bios based on our experience with a pet and are not making guarantees. Every day Biscuit wakes up and chooses pawsitivity! 🥰 Biscuit is a happy, social dog around 2 years old who has been let down time and time again but still shines with joy and resilience 💕 Despite being abandoned once and returned twice, she continues to bring her playful spirit and love for life wherever she goes 🐾 Found snoozing in the middle of the road, deaf and unaware of the commotion, Biscuit woke up with a big grin and eagerly hopped into her rescuer’s car, ready for her next adventure. 🚗 She even brought six toys from her finder’s home to the shelter, proudly showing them off as if saying, “Here’s the next stop on my journey!” 🧸

With a boundless love for toys and plenty of energy, Biscuit is always ready for playtime 🐕✨ and has lots of cooped up energy right now she needs to run out so be sure to give her time. She’s treat-motivated and has already learned the hand signal for “sit,” showing how smart and eager she is to learn more 🍖 While her deafness requires a bit of patience and commitment, it doesn’t hold her back—she’s a diamond waiting to shine in the right home 💎

Biscuit needs a stable, pet-free home with secure containment to keep her safe and a family ready to give her the love, structure, and fun she deserves 🏡 In return, she’ll offer endless cuddles, joy, and loyalty ❤️ Are you ready to give this special girl her forever home and the happy ending she’s been waiting for? 🌟

FRY is a shy guy looking for love! He hasn't had the best care in his previous 4 years and we'd love to see that changed! He is definitely timid at first, but if you are gentle and don't push, he will come to you for love and pets and most definitely for treats! He has itchy skin that's being treated by staff and not just with extra scratchies! He also has a broken tooth that will need removed. Do not let that deter you from adoption, as the Friends of Stark Pound organization will assist adopter(s) with the cost of this when the time arrives.
FRY is one heck of a guy looking to make a real connection and overcome his past. Could you be the person he needs? 🍟

Someone please help this poor boy! 😭 Clark needs a patient but strong owner to give him a chance! He’s extremely stressed at the shelter, unable to gain weight, and has issues with hu***ng (which is a behavior that can be stress-induced). He responds well to training… he just can’t get consistency at the shelter 😕 This handsome dude is around 4 years old, weighing about 53 pounds, who arrived at the shelter on June 28th 💔 After burning off that excess kennel energy, he’s a very nice boy who loves scratches and is clearly affectionate 💖

Clark takes treats well and is motivated by them, making him eager to learn! He knows how to sit, come, and walk nicely on a leash 🐕🦴 We tried lay down and he got so close! With a little practice he can certainly learn! This boy also loves toys and playing fetch! He’s ready to show his true self in a loving home where he can get the attention, love and exercise he needs. 🏡

If you’re looking for a loving and intelligent companion, Clark might be your perfect match. Bring your whole family to meet this charming boy and see if you can be the one to help him finally find his forever home! 🌟❤️

Arya staying comfy cozy 🥰 Adoptable at Maggie's Mission! Click the pic to inquire!

Arya is warm in her foster home while she waits for her forever, but so many pets aren't as lucky today! 🥶

As a foster home based rescue without a physical shelter, we can only help as many pets in need as we have fosters available. How you can help:

✅ Adopt! Arya is a 10 month old puppy who loves to snuggle. She loves belly rubs, baths, playing chase with her foster sister (dog), and car rides. Arya is potty and crate trained. If Arya isn't your dream dog (what?!), check out our website for more available pups of all kinds!

✅ Foster! Temporarily take a dog or puppy into your home while they await adoption. We provide the food, supplies, and medical care. You provide and enjoy the love! 🥰

✅ Share! Even if you aren't ready to adopt or foster, you never know which of your friends and family are! Help us spread the word so we can save more pets in need.

☃️ROLON is looking for a permanent forever family. He’s a 2 year old/ 60 # coonhound who can’t wait for spring to sniff out all of the critters! He’s a strong guy who could use some TLC for itchy skin. He’s positive for Lyme disease and we are starting antibiotics. He is said to be good with dogs, cats & kids. Meets are always necessary to be sure.

We have no history on stray dogs.
Please bring your family and other pets to meet them and see if they are a good fit for you.**Please prepare to crate your pets for the ride home. We do not allow newly adopted dogs to ride in the car without being properly separated from their new friends **
Decompression and patience are the keys to success when adopting a shelter dog.

QUEEN is so excited to meet her forever family finally. She is only a 1 year old and can't wait to be loved and cuddled and admired. She loves treats so much and will do anything for one. We aren't sure if that's because she came in so incredibly underweight or if they're actually her favorite thing.. She will fill out with a consistent and healthy diet. We hope she never has to experience the abuse of being hungry or abandoned again. If you're ready to commit to a full time queen in your home, look no further than this good girl. Please allow plenty of decompression time so she can comfortably learn to trust again. 👑🥰

Allie is growing old in a shelter 💔 with no couch, no toys, no cuddles whenever she wants. She was briefly adopted but returned for chasing cats. She needs a home without cats or a home willing to work with her. She is choosey about dog friends so a meet and greet is necessary! Allie is approximately 6-7 years old and 44 pounds. A volunteer favorite 💞 this gentle dog is all smiles and tippy taps whenever she’s out and she hoping for an easy going home 🏡

Allie is a joy on walks, letting her nose lead the way! We think she knows the word "treat" and takes them so gently ❤️ She also knows sit but truth be told does have much time for tricks 😂 Allie may be in her golden years, but she’s still got plenty of pep in her step and loves to play!

This happy girl makes the most of her time out and doesn’t like to sit still for long 😆 A shelter is no place for a “senior” like Allie. She’s ready to find a cozy home! If you’re looking for a super sweet, easy-going bestie, look no further than Allie. She deserves a home filled with love and never to feel abandoned again 🏡 She can’t wait to be smiling for her adoption photo! 📸
