5%of the dogs will develop dry eyes but for some breeds, this figure doubles. Tears provide oxygen, nutrition, lubrication and part of the immune system to the corneal surface. The cornea is often most severely affected by dry eye. Dry eye can be a painful condition. Dogs excel at hiding pains so it helps if pet parents can recognize the symptoms

Antibiotics cannot pe*****te bad tissues, see your doctor quickly
Cat bites usually inflict a wound which, on the surface, doesn’t look that bad. But their sharp, thin teeth transport germs deep into the tissue.
6 minutes clip from Deutsche Welle; international broadcaster in Germany
Cat bites usually inflict a wound which, on the surface, doesn’t look that bad. But their sharp, thin teeth transport germs deep into the tissue. That often leads to a protracted infection, which sometimes can only be treated with surgery.

AIR-CONDITIONING related "chronic" heatstroke
When it is hot, many of us turn on our air-conditioning when we are home and turn it off when we head out. But this may cause discomfort in pets who stay at home for long periods
Long-term large temperature swings may lead to dysregulation of cats and dogs' thermoregulatory centres, and may even lead to "chronic" heat stroke.
It happens to humans too. But cats and dogs are more sensitive to environmental changes and they cannot tell us their discomfort.
(It is less an issue for the cool temperate climate zone but still something to watch out for especially for pets in their golden age)

FRIENDLY TIPS FOR RIDING IN ELEVATORS
✔️Use Break-Away Collar
✔️ Do NOT use retractable leads, or ensure they are locked when using lifts.
✔️ Consider putting your pet in a harness if you are regularly using an elevator.
✔️ Have a short lead and keep your pet beside you at all times – do not rely on your dog staying put. Have a firm hand on the short leash at all times.
✔️ Train your dog to always sit before you get in the lift, and stay by your side.
✔️ If you can – carry your pet in and out of elevators.
✔️ Be consistent, even the most reliable pets and regular users of elevators can get into trouble quickly.✔️ Use a break-away collar.

Dogs can see fewer colours ( 👀Pic Below) but they can see more hues. Where we see one blue, they see several different blues.
This is why although guide dogs cannot tell red from green, they can identify the brightness of traffic lights, and analyze other factors to determine whether to take the owner across the road.
Also, dogs have:
~~Better nite vision - can tell different shades of grey in dim light.
~~Better at grasping moving objects.
Vision varies by breed. Face shape, cranial shape, and nose length all have an impact.

Pale pink to pink is representative of good blood flow and healthy gums. Very pale gums may mean anemia. Dark red gums may indicate gingivitis, stomatitis, and periodontal disease, etc.
Simple DIY gum tests:
1. Press down on your pet's gum with your finger. Apply firm pressure but not too hard to cause pain or discomfort
2. Release pressure and time how long it takes for your pet's gum to return back into gums where you pressed. If it takes less than a couple of seconds, it means the blood flow is good.
3. Use your finger to feel your pet's gum. If they are dry and tacky, it may be a sign of an underlying health issue.
This test does not substitute for veterinarian check-ups.
