Princey my darling cat you must go up for adoption to be fostered when your Mom returns from her transplant. This is quite unfortunate but sacrifices must be made so your Mother can live. I know you love her dearly, but I must find you a home to be safe and happy. Be brave Princey, you are strong for a very small cat and you will be loved and cared for.

I apologize for the sad photo, but this is a VERY important message!
This beautiful red fox kit was brought in last night barely alive, and passed away shortly after despite our best efforts to save him. He was suffering from mange, but that's not what killed him. It wasn't nearly progressed enough to cause shut down. We took a blood sample, as that's unfortunately become a necessary norm, and our fears were confirmed. This poor guy died from eating rodents that had ingested rat poisoning. (Rodenticide).
Rat poisoning kills countless raptors and other predators every year. As a rehabber, we see the use of that horrible stuff becoming more and more common. How does anyone expect the rodent population to get in check when so many of their natural predators are being killed?? A standard bait station may kill 50 rats, a single red fox can kill thousands! They can eat several pounds of food a day, and if there is an abundance of rodents in their territory that's what they'll go for.
Please, please, please stop killing nature's rodent control. They don't deserve to die like this! No animal does. :(
