A guy brought me a set of antlers wanting a broken tine repaired, it is for his grandson. Nothing major here, it's only a 4" tine. This set of antlers had numerous different color shades to try and match which is the hardest part. Follow along with the captions, I'll briefly explain this method.

Here are before and after pictures of whole deer head that was setting in a backyard for a year or so. The skull was cleaned up degreased and whitened. There were some chew marks on some of the tines that were fixed and the antlers recolored. The left main beam was busted off when the deer was shot and it was decided to leave it that way.

We do a pretty darn good deer mount as well. This one was taken taken by a 16 year old. Congratulations to the hunter.

It seems like common thought that skulls done by beetles is the way to go (i used to think the same). The deer on the left I had beetle cleaned by someone else. The yellow that you see is grease still in the skull.

The skull on the right, done here, was done by a lesser known process called warm water maceration. As you can see, after degreasing and whitening, the results are much better.

This deadhead went through some restoration. The skull was cleaned up and the antlers recolored. There is more to refurbishing antlers than just painting some brown stain on. There multiple shades of colors from off whites and bone to grays browns and umbers. The results can be pretty convincing.

This antler mount fell off ,the wall and broke at the antler plate. A little TLC and they're back to new again ready to be hung back up.

We do european mounts and make two different style plaques for them as well. These plaques are stained oak, one has a skull ho**er (or similar) attached and the other hangs flat and has a peg which inserts into the brain cavity of the skull. Both have a keyhole routed into the back and are hang ready.
