Tripel Dog Brewery and Meadery Handcrafted beers and meads brewed and bottled in Sykesville, MD. And thus Tripel Dog Brewery and Meadery's online presence was born!

After realizing that not all of my friends appreciated me yammering on and on about beer on my personal page, I decided to brand our little homebrewery and take discussion of it and other beer related topics to a separate FB page.

What rain?

Is this a Rockwell painting in the making?

First snow of the season (and a historic one at that)! Not sure Boss Lady Pearl was amused...

Been sampling some local Mississippi craft beers. Good stuff, Southern Prohibition!

Emmitt’s not a fan of 4th of July fireworks. He finds comfort in the gaming room away from all the noise.

Bittersweet moment. Tonight we kicked the keg on the last Big Boy Strong Ale batch brewed with our recently passed “Assistant Brew Master In Training”, Bigby. We still miss him every day.

It ain’t easy being a boss lady. Because she’s been struggling with getting around the last week, Pearl visited her vet today. Looks like the poor girl has torn her ACL. She’s recovering from the vet visit trauma on the couch tonight.

10:30 PM ball fetch in the yard is how Mr. Emmitt rolls.

18/11/2017

Tough day for our brewery hounds.

Pearl spent the day at the vet to get a set of x-rays to check out her newly developed coughing. Good news is, everything looks as good as you can get for a 14 year old girl!

Our new addition, Mr. Emmitt got his first visit to our regular vet as well - mostly good, though the poor boy has two (!) worm infestations that he’ll be taking meds for. But he sure charmed the whole office!

Both are sleeping off the day’s traumas on the couch. Stereo white noise generators!

Introducing the newest addition to the Tripel Dog brewing team: Emmitt!

06/11/2017

While we continue to dearly miss our big boy, Bigby, we are excited to announce the coming new addition to our pack. Next Saturday will be a big day!

2017 hard cider is bottled. Very limited quantities. Looking forward to cracking open a bottle on the deck one cool autumn evening and toasting Bigby.

The second of our 3 Founding Canines left us this night. Our precious big boy, Bigby, is gone. Rest well, my awesome circus dog.

Cascade hops have gone crazy again this year. Harvested a nice bunch today, and lots more to go!

Medusa Limited Edition Cream Ale : Northern Brewer

Brewed a batch of Northern Brewer's Medusa yesterday. The blow off from the fermenter today smells delicious! Smells like guava or apricots!

http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/medusa-limited-edition-cream-ale

This summer beer relies heavily on Medusa™ hops for its distinct flavor and aroma characteristics. Conducting a 5- to 10-minute hop stand at the end of the boil is crucial in emphasizing the full, strange, exotic range of flavors Medusa™ can provide.

Cool day today. Feels like a good day to brew....

Dried and vacuum sealed in 1 gallon freezer bags.

First day of the hop harvest - 5 gallon bucket of Chinook hops!

12/04/2014

Looks like I need to string up the trellises this weekend - the Chinook hops have decided it's spring!

Beer-marinated meat lowers cancer risk

Yeah science, bitch!

A study has concluded that letting meat sit in beer for a few hours can reduce levels of Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which have been linked to colorectal cancer.

About Us

Got one of these in the mail today. Going to try it out this weekend on the growlers I fill tonight at Victoria Gastro Pub! I'll let you know what I think....

http://www.growlersaver.com/about-us.html

The Growler Saver® is a Patent Pending cap that will ensure a draft-like beer pour out of a growler, even after breaking a growler's original seal and opening it numerous times. Until we developed this cutting-edge industry-first design, draft beer stored in a growler could not retain its optimum f…

Mmmm, sounds good!

Every year, the Flying Dog tribe gathers at a mountain retreat to pitch beers for our Brewhouse Rarities series.

Inspired by the obscure and unearthed, anyone — from sales and marketing to accounting, packaging to the brewers themselves — has the chance for their idea to become a reality: http://bit.ly/1b21CSL

Picked up a bottle if this while in WI for the holidays. Looking forward to trying it!

Stay Warm, Wisconsin!

Another fruit beer from New Glarus Brewing Co., another example why they are the best in the fruit beer business!

Reddish orange with highlights of ruby, Strawberry Rhubarb leaves a thin, white head that provides plenty of sticky lace. The expectant aromas of strawberry and rhubarb are joined by a cascade of other notes like brown sugar, wild yeast funk, and earthiness. Overall, the aromas create a delectable pie-filling like wonderment for the senses. The strawberry flavors open on the palate and are quickly met with less pronounced notes of rhubarb tanginess that helps to cut the sweetness of the strawberries. Lurking under the main flavors, a slight aceticness creates hints of sourness that blend wonderfully with the overall impression of homemade pie. Creamy and lightly carbonated, this medium bodied ale proves that Dan and Deb are truly the king and queen of fruit beer. Wishing all the best to our friends and family in Wisconsin as they try to keep warm this weekend.

Kegged a Kolsch, moved a Scottish wee heavy and a second running beer to secondaries, and have a sweet stout and another second runnings beer boiling. Think that'll hold me on beer for a little while....

29/07/2013

Finally bought my first keg today! Should come in use for all the batches of brew I'm planning on making while the wife is away.

Now I just need to figure out where to get this gas cylinder filled....
