Sorry for the drop in activity, things have been a little crazy here. We are located in Fort Myers, FL. Hurricane Ian sent the area back to the Dark Ages for a little. Things will be up and running like normal again here soon. If you are also from Fort Myers area/SWFL in general. Stay strong the area will be rebuilt stronger and better than ever, things will get better.

Did you know the veiled chameleon is named after its casque, the pointed bone atop its head. It uses it to funnel water down it and into its mouth. This is a very important feature to the veiled chameleon.

Did you know that the veiled chameleon can lay 10-80 eggs at a time (depending on age/size)?
They become mature at the age of ~6 months which is very young for a lot of reptiles. The eggs can take ~8 months to incubate and then hatch out cute little chameleon babies.

Did you know Florida has Yemen Chameleons? Aka veiled chameleons. The veiled chameleon is classified as a non native species here in Florida, there hasn’t been any sufficient research done to show if they infact have much of an ecological effect on the native environment to classify them as Invasive. The veiled chameleons live right along side people in residential neighborhoods and most people living with them have no idea they are there, because of how well they hide, but when you do see one they sure are beautiful!
