We will be hosting an online survey to get your thoughts and ideas on the Dorsey Patrick Dog Park Plan. It will begin in a couple weeks and will run for a couple weeks. Please stay tuned to this page and invite your friends in the Bethel Lake Wylie area to follow this page. We want to hear from you.
We have made a couple changes based on input from a previous post here. More to come. Please stop by and see us June 11th during the Ag+Art Tour at Woodend Farm. This is a dog friendly event and we will have some "handouts" for the dogs and some stickers for the kids.

Thank you for being patient while we work to bring you a top notch park where DOGS BRING THEIR PEOPLE ! Below is the first draft MASTER PLAN and we want to share it with you and get your input. This will be accomplished in phases and phase one will include what we can do the quickest. This has been designed to save as much tree canopy as possible and the adjacent 19 acre conservation easement will remain wooded. We know of a couple changes we want to make like the addition of an area for dogs who are seniors, or not geared for group play but need a place to run a bit. There are a lot of details to work out so we can't answer every question yet but please weigh in and let us know what you like and what you want to see more or less of.
We have not gotten a project cost yet but want to share an ultimate plan that will most likely be scaled back to save costs. The dog park at the ASC Greenway in Fort Mill had over 29,000 visits last year and has a membership waiting list of about 200. This dog park would not be possible without the generous donation from Dorsey Patrick and funding by the Bethel Lake Wylie Preservation Park District. The water feature is sponsored by Lake Wylie Liquors.

Designer will be putting pen to paper soon. We have asked that cost be looked at in conjunction with nearby market & community gardens so we budget accordingly. Hope to have some ideas to share soon... the process is longer than anticipated but the benefit is we have learned from some existing dog parks to make Dorsey Patrick Dog Park a great place for Dogs and their people.
