We need to get the message out there. Humans, if you are going to get rid of your dog, drop him or her at a shelter or with a rescue, advertise on all the rehoming FB pages and even though it is 'breaking your heart' just know, your dog will go through such sheer terror and fear that we just cannot comprehend. We here at the Sanctuary see this first hand everytime we take in an old dog. We never, ever photograph them when they first get here, the photos would break your heart as they are so terrified.

So let's spread this around so humans can see the pain, the overwhelming fear a dog will go through if you can no longer 'have time to look after him/her', 'moving', 'moving overseas', 'cannot take dog with you to new home', 'baby on the way', 'new puppy doesn't like the old dog so the old dog has to go' all the excuses we have heard, this is what you leave behind. :(

Ringwood area police have been informed

I owe this dog everything I have.
Police have been notified but please be careful walking at the mount. 2 men tried to take Emily whilst we were walking Molly. Emily was walking a head of me, holding on to the handle on mollys harness (the only way emmy can walk her)
2 men approached us wanting to stroke molly, molly instantly moved away and stood between the men and Emily, she knew something was dodgy with them. Next thing I know one of the blokes grabbed Emily and ran. My instant reaction was to let mollys lead go and shout get emmy. Molly launched herself at the bloke, bit his leg and held on till he literally threw ems on the floor. Molly stood over her and wouldn't stop growling.
Iv never ran so fast home in my life. Both emmy and molly are okay. Bit shaken. But if it wasn't for Molly things could have ended different, I will forever be thankful for her.
If you see two men, looking trampy, stinking of w**d, caps on, one with ripped jeans on his leg and bleeding from a dog bite. Be aware! Police are currently looking for them.
Molly may be a pain in the arse but without her instinct to protect Emily and I my world may have completely changed today
