One of the most rewarding snakes to keep. A diverse diet, spunky personality, beautiful pattern and impressive size (but not too big) make false water cobras an exciting animal to work with. This male is the last of 2022 babies available and has a great temperament and appetite.

Another generation (Boiga d. de********ia)

The mother of this clutch is actually one I hatched out an egg several years ago. When captive bred, mangrove snakes are remarkably easy to care for and breed. Cannot say the same for wild caught individuals, buy captive bred. Its worth the money!

Range maps for many species of rattlesnake, and other species, can be misleading. Although many range maps available for the eastern diamondback show much of the southeastern coastal plain as the range of the species, none currently reflect what we know about their distribution. To help solve that issue, our team has been working on developing range maps that take into account recent occurrence data for the species. Keep in mind, eastern diamondbacks are not necessarily stable in all areas identified here as the core population. Although there are known eastern diamondbacks within areas considered "functionally extirpated", the species is observed at an extremely low frequency and isolated to certain areas.

The eastern diamondback and other rattlesnakes are also uniquely positioned for researchers to be able to delineate individual populations using genetic markers and venom composition, which is not reflected in this map, but will be in the future. Even with areas identified as the "Core Population" in this map have gene flow barriers and not all individual populations within these areas are stable.
