I've just heard that there has been an outbreak of stangles (only one horse confirmed at the moment, hope it stays that way) at a yard in Hertfordshire. It seems the horse is new to the yard and was bought from a dealer in Essex, so please be vigilant if you're in those areas.

At the weekend I helped my friends move their horses from a muddy field to a new yard where they have individual turnout where these two older mares can be turned out together with the option of being stabled when the weather isn't so great. There's a lot less mud, a lot more shelter and even more fuss on their new yard. After an eventful journey, they seem to be settling in well and are appreciating their new found creature comforts.

I'm a big advocate of 24/7 turnout as much as possible, but sometimes it's good to have the option and these girls now have that.

Please please please can you take a minute to vote for Ride High in this 12 Days of Giving campaign.
