This is awesome news to hear!

Today at the Mesa office Dr. Johnson spayed a 45 lb. Sulcata tortoise without having to cut her shell. This may be the first time this has ever been done in this species. The procedure took 2.5 hours and each side of her reproductive tract was over 8 feet long. Good job Dr. Johnson!

I'm trying to help find this red ear a home. It's located in the Metairie/New Orleans area. Please let me know if you can provide it a good home. They get to be the size of a dinner plate so he or she will need a big area once full grown. Once turtles are in captivity it's not a good idea to release to the wild because diseases from captivity can be spread to wild populations.

Is anyone in the New Orleans area interested in a 4-5 year old red ear slider?

Here is a male Russian tortoise that I provided transportation. He will be going to his new home today. He was kept in an outdoor pen during the day when the weather was warm enough and he was kept in the Rubbermaid bin at night to protect him from predators.

This is a picture of the little red that had ear abscesses while having the procedure at the vet. The stuff on the gauze is what was inside the abscess. Sorry I didn't post this sooner. I completely forgot to post.

I got this little red foot as a rescue last week. It has an ear abscess so I have an appointment to see the vet tomorrow. Hopefully they are able to make a small incision and drain it and it won't come back. I will update after we see the vet.

Three small red ear rescues found a forever home and went to live in this beautiful pond about 3 weeks ago. They could not have asked for a nicer home besides out in nature.

This little one came from a rescue in Washington and will be going to her new home this week.

Pens are slowly getting planted. We moved a downed crepe myrtle into the redfoot pen. Probably need to prune it back, so that it has an easier recovery.
