Dear Friends of Emma,
MaDog here.... Our Beautiful, Beloved Frosty-faced Baby Girl Emma crossed the Bridge Thursday morning. She's once again with her goofy big little brother JoJo.

Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give, but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go.

I love you, Myles. 💕

Friends, Elle has crossed over the bridge and joined her brother Bruno. Together they are running around playing just like young pups again. I miss her with every beat of my heart and I will never be the same without her by my side. I found some peace the morning after when that beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky directly above my house.

Elle touched so many lives with that irresistible, friendly, funny personlity. I believe she knew her life was meant to be extraordinary and she handled every step of the way with love as her guide. She was such a special soul, she had such a huge heart and her beauty shined from the inside out. Throughout her life, she was the most loyal companion, she became the best teacher and was honestly happy at work as a therapy dog. I hope we all continue to celebrate her life and share the valuable education and lessons about life that she so devotedly shared with us. I was blessed and honored to be her mama and fortunately recognized her incredible potential. Our dogs really are gifts from God.

I must say this to every dear friend near and far... Because of your acceptance and continued loving support, Elle was able to truly shine as brightly as possible.

It is with a very shattered heart that we announce the passing of Silent Sidekicks’ Co-founder, Morgan.

Morgan le Faye

May 19,2012 – October 15,2021

Morgan le Faye (Morgan-The Sidekick) passed away on Friday, October 15th, peacefully in a field full of clover in a beautiful rain shower while wrapped in the arms of her human mom, Danielle Ireland, and listening to the voices of her loved ones who could not be there to wish her good-bye.

Morgan was born May 19, 2012 in Winn, Maine and spent her life in both the US and Canada. Although her first year was filled with some mischief and a few costly damages, those times were instantly forgotten by the flash of her signature smile and the offering of her paw. She was a special puppy right from the start and loved every human that she came in to contact with. She became a Therapy Dog and the Co-founder of Silent Sidekicks, Maine’s first Animal-assisted Therapy, Activities, and Educational nonprofit. From children learning to read at a schools and libraries, to at-risk youth in need of extra comfort and security, to high school and college students needing companionship in difficult times, to family members watching sick loved ones smile for the first time in a long time, to helping Canadian Forces and US Armed Forces Members and Families cope with the stresses of Military life, Morgan shared her love with humans for nine years, logging over 3,000 hours of comfort. Together with Danielle, she traveled over 200,000 miles on almost every highway and back road in Maine and New Brunswick to some of the most rural communities. She was celebrated on TV, Radio, Newspapers, and social media. She had friends at almost every gas station, border crossing, and rest stop along the way. There were several unplanned “adventures” on some of the road trips, but Morgan never stopped smiling.

Although Morgan worked hard, she played even harder. It was important that she just be a dog and live her best possible life outside of work. Despite long travels for work, Morgan still loved roadtrips. She experienced all of New England, the Canadian Maritimes, Quebec, and Ontario with her family and friends. Morgan loved trips to Tractor Supply, her treat bone, dart, and stuffie unicorn. She loved to hike, including parts of the Appalachian Trail (Trail name GoldenSidekx) and swimming in every body of water she could find (from the Atlantic Ocean to mud puddles, preferably after she just had a bath), riding with her Grampie on the boat at Center Pond and snowmobiling into Medford, ice fishing with her cousin Dash, Summer Camp at the Kilbride’s and playing with her best friends, Ripley and Marshal, in their back yard. Morgan was happiest running free at her camp, Pick’s Place, at Silver Lake in Lee, Maine. She found joy in every season there, but mud season was her absolute favorite. She lived a great life.

Morgan will be greatly missed by many, but none more than her human, Danielle. They were not only work partners but partners on this great adventure that is life. Morgan was constantly by her side, not just in all of the joys and awesome experiences that they had together, but through much heartache, grief, and lonely times.

Morgan brought unconditional love to thousands of humans in her nine years. She taught love and kindness to everyone who crossed her path. She leaves behind many special loved ones including: her US and Canadian families, her “second family” Janet and Steve Kilbride, all of her Silent Sidekicks’ family, Lori Jandreau and all her buddies at daycare, and the thousands of clients that Morgan had in her life.

A celebration of life will be held for Morgan at her camp next Summer. For those who would like to honor Morgan’s memory, you may do so by donating to Silent Sidekicks, PO Box 487, Lincoln, ME 04457 to help continue the great programs that she help start, by dropping of a new Children’s Book at the drop box at Drinkwater’s Variety in Lincoln, ME to be donated to local schools and libraries, or by showing a random act of kindness.

Hi Emma's Friends!
MaDog here... As my Precious Frosty Face snoozes, please keep her in your thoughts. She goes in for surgery tomorrow to remove masses in her mammary glands. Since the small mass in her upper chest was benign fatty deposit, we're going with the optimism these larger ones in her glands are as well. Paws crossed.

It is with a heavy heart that I let you know my best friend, Star - The New York Pit Bull passed away unexpectedly this afternoon. I was holding her in my arms and she let out a few deep breaths, and passed. Words cannot express how devastated I am. Star was my world - we did everything together. Life won’t be the same without her. But, I will keep her story alive so all know what a fighter she was. I hoped she was going to make until March 1 - her 10th birthday, so we could have a big celebration but it wasn’t meant to be. This is not goodbye, my friend. Until we meet again. 🌈
