Had these two seniors at the vet yesterday.
Liil Maud, the chi, our physically compromised dog who does not have use of her back legs
We got her from a north valley shelter last April and she was so emaciated she looked nearly dead.
We got her plumped up and happy and she’s even gained strength and can stand and somewhat walk on her atrophied back legs.
However she developed diarrhea and would not eat and a few days ago and thus a trip to the doggie doctor. Even though she was ill Doctor remembered her and said she looked so much improved 💕. Injections and fluid given and meds and special diet sent home and she’s on the improve already.

Maggie. A senior mini poodle who arrive last year when her owner passed away.
First thing we noticed was mammary tumors on both sides of her doggie breasts.
Being unplayed the hormones feed such masses and they grow and can be cancerous.
Removing them may cause the tumors to spread if they are malignant . Two different vet consultations confirmed our thoughts not to remove but to just spay her to see if this shrink. We were blessed as this avenue worked. Her tumors are almost non existent but we wanted to ask our vets thougts with a follow up.
Anyway Maggie is scheduled for a dental next month and she will be available to somone willing to embrace such a sweet girl.

Evie

She was vetted yesterday!
She’s one of the tote puppies left in Extreme heat in a tote in an orchard last September.
Her litter was discovered to have ring worm as well as Loaded with fleas and it’s been a road to Recovery and health. Evie and her brother Adam are now ready for their next step to a
Life of happiness when they started out abandoned to die. They are about 5 month old chihuahuas and you can apply by emailing [email protected]💕

Dollar Wednesday.
The cost of operating a rescue continues to mount
So many unseen expenses to properly care for the buddies.
Basics like vet bills have gone up and food and supplies have gone up as well. And there are endless expenses associated with operating costs. Yet our adoption fees remain the same.
We could not save lives and help the abandoned that come through our doors with our our wonderful BBR friend and families.

It’s official.
Donnie and Danny are on the available list.
About two months old these cuties were vetted yesterday.
Donnie also had a hernia repaired.
Such happy sweeties.

The dogs I know have more soul, more heart, more love, more connection, more patience, and more softness than any human I’ve ever met. They don’t ask for anything, no explanations, no justifications. They just stay, steady and sure, as if they’ve always known what you need before you do.
People complicate love. They wrap it in conditions, dress it in expectations. Dive it towards pain and disappointment. A dog doesn’t do that. Their love is raw, honest, and without strings. Without complications. They see you..not the version you show the world, but the one you keep buried. And they love that version most of all.
I’ve met plenty of people, but none have ever matched the soft, gentle loyalty of a dog. They don’t try to fix you; they just sit beside you, whole and true. Through thick and thin. And that’s more than most humans will ever understand.

Jeff is also well adjusted and content with his whole new life after being “rebuilt” from his horrible accident late last year and has adjusted as if he’s always been right where he’s at now.❤️
