Just want everyone to know that Snowflake AKA Snow AKA Snowy has been adopted. She leaves for her furever home tomorrow. Love you Snowy....You have brought so many people joy on your journey.
Snowflake's Bio: Snowflake is a 5 year old black and white parti female Pomeranian who is about 7.5lbs. Snow is a delightful little girl but she is very shy and of the 4 that came to us she is the most nervous. She also demonstrated some of this behavior with her past owner and he said she eventually comes to you on via a belly-crawl. So she is going to need someone that will be very patient with her. Snow would be best with a home with a fenced yard. She has been around children and other poms, but I do not know how she will react to children. I think she would be ideal in a home with 1-2 other small dogs and no children. Snow is currently being fostered in CT. Adoption fee is $800, she is up to date on all shots, been spayed, had a dental been de-wormed and had flea, tick and heartworm preventative.
Snowflake is still waiting for the perfect family to adopt her. She is being fostered in Connecticut. Grooming! It's the dirty 8 letter word here. :) This weekend is another groom-a-thon, since last weekend got derailed. Plum and Snow you better watch out for the dryer, I know it is your favorite.
Winter is still with us here in Maryland, but poms still need to be clean so that they are comfortable. Anyone else grooming this weekend? Do you have any great tips you would like to share? One of my favorites is you have to line brush/comb before you do anything else. Don't want to leave any loose fur or you risk it matting during/after the bath.

Billy Bean AKA Billy is a 5 year old black male Pomeranian that weighs about 6.7lbs. Billy has some knee/patella luxation, but is not symptomatic. He is shy but is the most outgoing of the group. He will tuck himself in a ball when unsure but lets you do what you wish. He is not found of a crate and did toss cookies on the long drive from NJ to MD. High recommend a fenced yard or the use of an exercise pen. He has been around children and other poms, but I do not know how he will react to children. I think he would be ideal in a home with 1-2 other small dogs. He is up to date on all shots, been spayed, had a dental been de-wormed and had flea, tick and heartworm preventative.

Billy and Plum are still looking for their forever homes. As they wait would anyone be willing to foster one of them. I think that Billy would do better in a home with less dogs and more attention to help him with his shyness.

Let's talk about holiday treats.
Often during the holidays pets get extra treats. This is great but we have to be careful as one of the biggest reasons that pets are taken to the veterinarian during the holidays is because they systems aren't used to these treats and they are often high in fat and that can cause pancreatitis or other GI issues.
So I thought I would share one of my homemade treat recipes. If you have one you would like to share please share.
Peanut Butter Pumpkin Treats
3 cups flour
1/2 cup quick oats
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie mix)
2 Eggs
3 tablespoons all natural peanut butter (Make sure it doesn't have artificial sweeteners in it they are toxic to dogs)
Mix together
Rollout 1/4" thick
cut into desired shapes
cook at 350F for 10-15 min or until very crisp
You can also to 1/2" think and cook for 30min, but my Pomeranians like the thinner cookies.
