Penny has found her forever home! 🏡❤️ This sweet 2-year-old cocker mix now has a wonderful family and doggy friends to share her love and energy with. He loves curling up with his head on your foot for naps and playing with his foster dog siblings. Using his nose, he quickly learns his way around a new home. Since his foster home has stairs, he’s being trained to use a piddle pad.

Happy Birthday to SCCR alum Daisy! Daisy was rescued in 2019 and has been with her foster-to-forever family ever since. She had a wonderful day picking out treats at Three Dog Bakery and enjoying a nice walk. Tonight, she'll celebrate with her SCCR alum siblings, Comet and Chanel.

Sherman Needs Your Help!

Sherman’s Sanctuary mom, Martha, noticed he wasn’t feeling like himself last week. A vet visit and bloodwork revealed a dangerously low red blood cell count. He was diagnosed with IMHA (Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia) a serious autoimmune disease that can be fatal.

Thankfully, Sherman has responded well to steroid treatment and is showing signs of improvement! While he’s not completely out of the woods, he’s on the right track, but he still needs ongoing care and monitoring.

Sherman is part of our Sanctuary Program, where loving families open their homes and hearts to dogs in need, providing food and care while we cover their medical expenses for life. We can't do it without the support of generous donors like you.

🐾 Joy has been waiting patiently for her forever family, could it be you? 🏡❤️

Rescued from the meat trade in China, Joy has come a long way and is now ready to find a loving home. This sweet 11-year-old Shiba mix is the perfect medium-sized companion at about 30 lbs. Always smiling, Joy is gentle, and mellow, but still playful, making her an easygoing and happy addition to any home.

Making Second Chances Possible - For Dogs, Cats & Their Humans! ❤️🐾

At Second Chance Cocker Rescue, we believe every dog deserves a happy ending. From wagging tails to fresh starts, we’ve dedicated our hearts to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Cocker Spaniels and other pups in need.
But our mission doesn’t stop there! Through Second Chance Spay and Neuter, we’re working to prevent pet overpopulation and ensure every furry friend gets the care they deserve. We also help feral cats by providing spay and neuter services, helping to manage colonies and give these independent felines a healthier, safer life. A simple spay or neuter can change countless lives, including the pets who are already waiting for their forever families!
Now, we want to take it a step further! We’re looking for volunteers to help us create a fun, engaging educational program for local schools, teaching kids about spay and neuter and what it means to be the best pet parent possible. Imagine a future where every pet is loved, cared for, and never left behind. You can help make that a reality!

Even though Teddy isn’t a Cocker Spaniel, he’s family, and we’re committed to finding him the perfect home, could it be yours? ❤️

This young and adorable 12-lb terrier is a little shy at first, but he quickly warms up and loves meeting new people. He’s already great with other dogs, housetrained, up to date on shots, and neutered, ready to go! We’re not sure how he is with cats, but he’s got plenty of love to give.

A Birthday Wish for the Dogs: Pat's Generous Celebration

Most people mark their 80th birthday with gifts, cake, and celebration. Pat, however, chose to celebrate in a way that reflects her generous spirit, by giving back.

In honor of her milestone birthday, Pat asked that donations be made to Second Chance Cocker Rescue in lieu of presents. Her many generous friends embraced her wish, coming together to raise an incredible $1,688 (and counting!) to help Cocker Spaniels in need.

Pat’s kindness and selflessness are truly inspiring. Her love for dogs and commitment to rescue efforts made this birthday not just a celebration of her life, but a gift to so many deserving pups.
