with Many of you remember the sad story of Clover. A beautiful young pitbull, who was discarded in the desert - covered in toxic green paint. She had burns to a significant portion of her body and required extensive medical care.
Well, the good news is, she’s living her BEST life. She’s been adopted by an amazing couple who have worked through some of her fear-based issues, and are showing her all the good stuff the world has to offer.
The bad news is, shortly after we rescued her, she blew out her ACL (a common injury in this breed). We took care of that leg but unfortunately, as is often the case with this type of injury, she just blew out her other ACL. As it is considered a pre-existing condition, we are covering the surgery. And it is not a cheap surgery, about $5000 (per knee). So if you’re in a position today to donate $5 towards her medical fund - we would so appreciate it. As always, you guys are the engine that makes this little train run and we are so grateful to have you.

with Bruno here, just wanted to stop in and let you know I’m still looking for a foster home or forever family!!😍♥️ We have been posting him and sharing and getting no interest! How can you not fall in love with that face?

Bruno is such a fun and goofy boy. He has boxer puppy energy and uses his mouth for touch everything. Bruno doesn’t have a mean bone in his body, but when in a new setting or with unfamiliar dogs he puts on a tough guy attitude on leash or when inside his crate. Bruno is treat motivated and wants to learn. He has lots of energy to burn, but will settle down in his crate for quiet time. We have been working on him getting use to living in a home and settling down outside his crate. He is learning the ropes of being an indoor dog and taking to it very well. He would benefit of daily walks and someone active to work with him. Bruno loves his toys and especially loves to play tug. He also loves water!

Bruno really needs a foster or adopter that will continue to help him thrive and teach him the ropes. He would love to and should have a dog friend to learn from and play with. He does better with female dogs. Bruno can come on strong, but in a very playful way. So he would do best with tolerant dogs that don’t mind his awkwardness. Slow intros is a must! He is a year and a half, smaller side around 45lbs. He has been fully vetted, neutered, vaccinated, and chipped. We are located in Sacramento and need to be close enough for meets and a in person home check. Home owners only with a fully fenced in yard. Large breed experience is a must. with Meet Junie, our favorite short-stack bully! She is around five years old and weighs 45 lbs, although her short frame makes her appear much smaller. We rescued her from a shelter partner, where she came in with severe mange and was extremely overbred. Junie has made a ton of progress but is still receiving weekly medicated baths for her skin and coat, which will recover fully with time. Junie is the definition of a social butterfly who adores all people; this girl has never met a stranger! She has a well-balanced energy, adores getting her belly rubbed, and has a tail that never ceases to stop wagging. Junie is dog & cat-friendly but would be paired best with lower-energy dogs. To make her ever sweeter, Junie is also potty & crate trained and adjusted quickly to a routine in foster care. Whether she is laying in the sun for a snooze, going on daily walks, or just simply hanging out with her humans, Junie will make a wonderful family pup. Stealing hearts everywhere he goes with his piercing eyes and puppy hops, Cassian is a bundle of energy who loves everyone he meets (including a cat!). From his foster humans to his two foster siblings, Cassian has learned so much and grown quickly. He may have the attention of a goldfish at times, but his progress with learning commands and picking up on his foster siblings cues has been encouraging.

I’m going to organize a protest outside of the San Bernardino Shelter. A woman has an inside scoop that they beat Bruno the blue pit to death. He went from a beautiful pit (1st pic), the last pic posted was his bloody face and nose. They are denying it of course. The shelter ended up killing him. She’s trying to get names. I feel sick.

They beat him. Tortured him. We wasn’t aggressive to my friend who witnessed it. They kept beating him and he was bleeding from his nose and mouth. Eyes beaten. He could not see. He walked up to the gate and hung his tail low with a little wag walked away sad and crying for help.

Von Joni was at the front of his kennel with a relaxed demeanor. He greeted the runner sniffing and licking their hand allowing them to pet his muzzle. Von Joni displayed a relaxed body, loose tail wag, open mouth pant, perked up ears, and soft eyes. He was leashed and removed from the kennel without issue. Von Joni walked ahead of the runner with a moderate pull on the leash briefly greeting some of the dogs along the way.
In the catch pen Von Joni sat down allowing the runner to collar and leash them with ease. Von Joni greeted the dogs at the barrier nicely.
He entered the yard and exchanged greetings nicely with a relaxed demeanor. Von Joni moved on and began to explore the yard. He continued to roam and exchange greetings with any one he would come across. After some time, Von Joni approached the gentle dainty dogs and began to engage in play. Von Joni played nicely with the calmer dogs engaging in play chase. As time went on Von Joni’s play turned to mounting and he was easily steered by the handlers. Von Joni moved on continuing to explore and solicit petting from the handlers. Von Joni maintained a social demeanor during his time in the play yard with a gentle dainty play style.

While in playgroups Von Joni would return to play but would quickly begin to mount again appearing sexually motivated requiring frequent steering. Von Joni was easily steered mainly using verbal corrections and at times a spray bottle. Von Joni maintained a social demeanor during his time in the play yard with a gentle dainty play style.

1/20 Approaching kennel, Chispita approached me with a soft stare and wiggly body with wagging tail. I opened the door and easily leashed her. She walked out super excited with a fast wagging tail. On the leash she walked well and loosely. I placed her in runs and she went off to great her neighbors. Coming back inside, she walked on a loose leash with a more relaxed body

1/21 Chispita was at the front of the kennel door. Placing the leash on her, she ran out of the kennel once the kennel door was open all the way. While walking Chispita out to the run, she maintained a wiggly relax body, soft open mouth and a wagging tail. But while walking, Chispita was jumping on me and not taking any treats when trying to redirect her. She was semi-pulling on the leash while walking out to the runs and walking in zigzag. Walk Chispita into the run, and while trying to remove the leash, she was trying to run out of the run.

Madam morticia is a chunka monka! She’s way overweight so will need someone committed to helping her trim down. She was happy and wiggly in the kennel for me but didn’t like it when I brought my face too close to her. The ACT took her out for a potty break and she immediately went, so I’d assume she’s potty trained. She was very interested in sniffing her surroundings but walked well on the leash. She let us pet her and took treats from me gently. I’d guess she’s more of a senior than a puppy, but that just means she’d make a great couch buddy! I’d recommend no small kids since they may be too in her face, however she had no reaction walking past dogs in their kennel or outside in the runs!

#1 Leslie is a diamond in the rough, just waiting on the perfect family to come along and show her the ropes! Leslie was as sweet as could be during our encounter and she did great ignoring the other dogs in her ward aisles. She didn’t walk great on a leash and didn’t show she knew basic commands, but she gets a 10/10 for being affectionate. She is a beautiful Husky mix with light brown eyes! She snuggled up to me on the bench, offering kisses and cuddles galore! I love this little gal and know she would make a great addition to someone’s family!

#2 A1915273 Leslie is a whole lotta fun! This dynamic, playful lady would probably do extremely well with agility training or another fast-paced activity because she is extremely quick, super smart, and loves to have the room to run! She is in love with BALLS big or small, and takes off like a streak of lightning when she sees one rolling. Leslie is gorgeous, clocking in at a healthy 50lbs with a soft coat and pretty blonde markings. If you’re falling down on your New Year’s resolution to get on your feet and be more active, Leslie is ready to help!

Teddy is 6-year-old pittie mix and was surrendered by his owner. ☹️Poor guy was as calm and sweet as could be but not in great physical condition. He definitely was primarily kept outside as he was missing hair on his bottom and belly, and had some healed and older puncture wounds. He was also on the skinnier side. As soon as we got outside, he used the restroom quite a bit and I could tell he had been holding it for a while. He walked well on the leash and didn’t pull the slightest bit. He ate treats gently out of my hand and enjoyed pets when we were off-leash. He really wanted just to hang out with me while we were off-leash and didn’t show any interest in toys. He greeted another family as we were walking back in with a wagging tail and showed zero interest in the other dogs on his aisle. Teddy deserves a family who will do him right this time, please consider adding this calm guy to your family!

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: Samuel is labeled as a staffie but he is allll lab - bouncy and boingy, sweet and affectionate, and dapper as all get out in his Mardi Gras attire. He walks well on a leash, knows sit, loooves treats, and has an outgoing, gregarious affect about him. Several volunteers took him for a spin and we all were smitten with him. He has some healing wounds along his face and ears but is HW- and just a fun guy. We temp tested him with Dexter A1916546 and they both did so well!

1/11: Move adopt: Today I brougth Samuel from the runs, he took treats and walked beside me. Wagging his tail with the babytalk and presents a soft facial expresion. he has been quiet in the kennel, lying in his bed with relax body.

1/25: He stands on two legs to be barking in front of his door, when I take him outside, Samuel eats the treats and walks with loose leash, but in the runs he started barking again with dilated pupils and hackles up. When I returned him to his kennel I put a blanket at his door.

Ummm who let this guy be so cute?? He’s got a whopper of an injury on his leg and yet he is still such a wiggly happy guy. He loved my treats and let me pet him happily. You could tell he wanted to get up and come snuggle but unfortunately he needs some serious medical care on that back left leg. For him to have such a sweet disposition while injured just shows what a good guy he’ll be once fixed!

🔸𝗣𝗹𝗲𝐚 This shy guy was picked after it was reported that an injured dog was loose in a neighborhood-see notes below. This guy is smaller than he looks, approximately 28 lbs. He wouldn’t stand up but wagged his tail the whole time I was petting him-see short attached video.

1/12: Approaching kennel, Suzanne came to me with a wagging curled tail and erect ears as I babytalked to her. Dog walked on a loose leash looking back and taking treats on the way to the runs as well as on the way back. Once placed back in kennel, she went right in after I stepped in and took her treats readily.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
Max may win heartbreaker of the day for me because this guy is so crazy sweet and obedient whilst having gaping holes in his ear and head. On intake it was discovered that he had had 3 owners in the past 3 months, and on top of that he was attacked by another dog with some deep wounds that will need to be tended to. Max was out with a vet tech and sauntered over to me happily to say hi. He took my treats willingly and even sat and gave me his paw on command! He loved having me hold his paw which about broke me. Let’s get this buddy into a loving home where his paw will always be held!

1/24: Owner notes she is turning dog in due to landlord issues and pet is having diarrhea and vomit at random times. Eating and drinking. Owner surrendering noted pet’s “original owner” left him with her due to being deported abroad. She also notes he was attacked by another dog 3-4 days ago.Wounds noted near both ears and on right side of face . Pet is sensitive when you touch the area and will vocalize. Friendly and sits when commanded to

I loved Mudge! I didn’t get to take him out because of his location, however he was so wonderful through the kennel. He took my treats very gently and even did a sit for treats through the kennel! He let me pet him and has the cutest little sharpei looking face. He had been sleeping quietly in his kennel when I arrived as well. What a good boy!

1/2 Stray/Female/Siberian Husky Mix/4Y/58.6lbs/HW-

This beautiful girl is such an interesting mix. A light gray, black, and tan coat with pointy but floppy ears. She had the beautiful husky blue eyes. So well behaved on leash and took care of business outside. No barking at all and a lot of playful interest in other dogs. She was so appreciative for all the pets. She took treats gently and even let me dress her up. She’s incredibly photogenic. This sweet girl 100% deserves a chance and anyone would be lucky to have her. She’d be up for adventure or lounging at the house.

🔹𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲:
1/2: Husky mix with blue eyes roamig the street- and getting into caller’s yard. -will not leave very aggrs

📝 𝗦𝗵𝗲𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:
1/8: She has been quiet in the kennel, she wagging her tail with the babytalk and takes treats with soft mouth. easy leash her up and walks with her too. Outside she was quiet too so When I returned her to the kennel I just give her the enrichment.

1/12: Approaching kennel, Suzanne came to me with a wagging curled tail and erect ears as I babytalked to her. Dog walked on a loose leash looking back and taking treats on the way to the runs as well as on the way back. Once placed back in kennel, she went right in after I stepped in and took her treats readily.

💜 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀:

Brian is a sad owner surrender guy that makes you question why some people even get dogs in the first place. He’s got scars from previous dog attacks and sad goopy eyes. He was sleeping peacefully when I came up to him and got up slowly as if his bones are tired. He gently took my treats and had this overall air of dejection, as if he’s given up on expecting love and happiness. I can’t imagine why someone would’ve treated him that way, since he was so gentle for me!

🔸𝗣𝗹𝗲𝐚:
This friendly guy was picked up as a stray after he was abandoned by his owner. He is heartworm negative but has some issues wth his eyes-see notes below. He was signed over to the shelter by a citizen at an apartment complex who has been taking care of him for several months.
