FOSTER TO ADOPT PENDING!
———————————
MAMA OLIVE IS READY TO FIND HER FOREVER HOME ♥️
A lot of people have been cheering Mama Olive on and we are happy to announce that she is ready to start her new life. Since Olive is not yet spayed, this will need to be a foster to adopt. Olive’s milk has still not dried and, because of that, her spay date will need to be pushed back..
As far as Olive’s story and personality, this is what we believe to be true...
Olive is a chihuahua/yorkie/mutt mix that weighs around 6 lbs. She had a litter of 4 puppies at 2am on June 22nd. Twelve hours later, Olive and her babies were dropped off at Animal Control. An eight month old Chihuahua/Pomeranian puppy was dropped off, too. That could have very well been a puppy from Olive’s previous litter. There was also a male Chihuahua mutt mix dropped off. That was said to be Olive’s littermate.
The owner’s did not speak English and much was lost in translation. All that we knew was multiple dogs were in household and the family was moving out of state.
The male dog found his way to another rescue and has already found his forever home. Candy, the 8 month old, came to TAF and she has been adopted. Now, it is Olive’s turn to find her perfect forever home.
Olive is believed to be around 2 years old. It seems that, so far, her lot in life was to be bred and have puppies. Because of that, she has not been able to live a social and happy life. She is nervous in new situations and is fearful that she might be harmed.
As scared as she might be, never once has Olive reacted negatively to someone touching her. She wants to be loved so badly and just wants to find her person.
With so much change in such a short period of time, Olive is suffering from separation anxiety. To the point that she will climb a gate, exercise pen, etc. to get back to you. If she is unsuccessful, she will bark. At times it can be a panicked bark. We are usually big proponents of kennel training but, for Olive, this is not the way. In the future, maybe, but right now it will set her up for failure. To that point, the barking can also make things iffy if you rent an apartment or have a condo.
Olive does get along with other dogs and cats. Right now, she is fearful of the big dogs. She would just like to be ignored as much as possible. If it were up to Olive, she would like to be your little shadow and cruise around the house with you.
Olive has not been tested with kids but it is believed that she came from a home with children. As you know, some children are pint sized dog savvy and some are not. We would prefer the former.

One of TAF’S therapy dog’s, Hazel Grace (LEFT), helped Olive take her photo. She just needed a little help from a friend.
PLEASE SHARE SO THAT WE CAN GET OLIVE A FOREVER HOME THAT FITS HER BEST. THANKS!
