What an absolutely beautiful update on Addie, adopted five years ago. “Addie is doing great! Still playing fetch all the time and not putting her toys away after getting them all out of her toy basket. Lol. Did manage to get a photo of Addie and her 11 year old Akita sister, Lolo, in front of the Christmas tree this year. This winter we have had two snows, very unusual for Eastern NC. Glad both of our old girls could experience snow again. Snow photo is Addie waiting for me to throw a ball for her one evening.

Addie is a joy! Everyone loves her. We can’t believe she has been part of our family for five years already. Please slow down time because we want her with us forever. Thank you BDRA for five years of magic with our very good girl. ❤️”

Cookie's adoption update!
Cookie was adopted in September 2024 and she wanted to say hello and thank you for helping her find her furever home. ❤ She does have one complaint:
She tells us it's hard keeping up with her mom while she's cleaning! :)

This handsome little man is Opie, and he's been patiently waiting to be adopted. He's a terrier mix, about 12 years old, and receives eye drops twice a day for dry eye. He is housebroken and good with other dogs; however a home with young children is not recommended. If you are old enough to remember Benji, the dog from the 1970's movies, Opie looks like Benji! :)
Opie loves belly rubs and lying in the sun, and when he's awake, his tail is constantly wagging. His foster mom says if you are looking for an adorable chill dog who will make you smile every day, Opie is the fella for you!

Look who is still waiting for her adoptive family to find her ... it's BDRA foster Sasha! She knows they're out there somewhere! Sasha's foster mom says Sasha just wants a forever home with people that will love her and she will give so much love back. ❤
Sasha is an approximately 7-8 year old German Shepherd. She is almost completely blind, but does appear to see shadows. She enjoys walks and walking adventures, finding tasty morsels of food on the counter, and she loves her people! Sasha prefers the company of people over other dogs and will also need a home without cats.

This cutie is Jimmy, adopted in August 2024. His mom shared this update… “Jimmy, our newest family member, is a red mini poodle and will be 1 year old on 26 Feb. One eye never opened and the other has sight but not 100%, but good enough. He also has heart issues and why I adopted him, I'm not a poodle person. He has a hole in the heart and his pulmonic valve isn't working. He sees the cardiologist again for his 1 year check up on 3 March. He is the happiest puppy and loves to play and cuddle. He is a total Momma's boy and so attached to me.” Happy Birthday Jimmy! 🎂🦴🎁🎉

Soon after Addie came to her BDRA foster home, she delivered a litter of puppies. When the pups were gone, a wonderful family adopted Addie in February 2020. She is doing great, still constantly playing fetch, and NOT putting her toys away after removing them from her toy basket. 🙃 Her family shared, “Addie is a joy! Everyone loves her. Thank you BDRA for five years of magic with our very good girl.” ❤️

This cutie is Seeno, adopted in February 2023. He is the happiest little guy and doing great! Seeno did a lot of traveling with his family at Christmas time and now he gets excited at any chance to go in the car. Here’s a pic of him in the Christmas pj’s he got from his grandma. 😊

Meet two of our newest fosters, Ultima and Wrangler! Ultima and Wrangler (Wrangler is on the left in pictures with blankets, on right in the picture in blue basket) are 15 week old Catahoula mix puppies who came to us from No Greater Love Animal Rescue, who saved them and mom from the shelter. Wrangler is blind, and Ultima is blind and deaf, but they are still full of love and life! ❤Ultima and Wrangler are fostered in PA, and their sibling, Nash, also blind, is being fostered in NC. Please keep a watch out for updates on these sweet pups!
