ITS TIME,
I'm stepping into semi-retirement and passing the baton to Heiniger. It's time for me to chill out, enjoy life on the Sunny Coast, and go on trips for fun rather than business, all while keeping my love for R&D and education in the background.

ProGroom started nearly 16 years ago. From the start, our goal was to build a trusted brand, not just push shampoo sales. We aimed to create products that simplify grooming and teach groomers about what's inside each bottle, highlighting why it's essential to know how products are formulated and why there is no such as natural shampoo and conditioner is crucial to every coat.

I am honoured to see that ProGroom has grown into a global brand and that we have created a diverse range of products loved by the grooming industry. We have become known as a brand that is always looking to improve. I am super proud to say that we have hit all our dreams and business targets, and full disclosure of product ingredients is now listed on our labels.
This success is a testament to your support and belief in the ProGroom brand.

The Progroom brand is now in the safe hands of Heiniger, and Im excited to see the brand continue to grow and flourish with the support of the Heiniger team.

Over the years, I've formed many friendships in this industry and have loved working and sharing my time with you all, often over a glass of wine or three.

Regular bathing helps to keep the coat clean and free from dirt, allergens, and potential skin irritants, but the real challenge comes with managing the shedding. The undercoat sheds seasonally, and if not properly groomed, it can mat and trap moisture, leading to skin infections or hot spots. De-shedding is essential to remove loose hair and prevent matting, which is particularly important for a breed like the Chow Chow, as mats can be painful and uncomfortable.

How we bath our Samoyeds!
There are a couple important things to remember when bathing a Samoyed. Firstly, groom your Samoyed BEFORE you bath them. Make sure any loose coat is out and they’re free of matting and knots. If not you will only make the matting 100x worse.
Secondly, it can be hard work soaking them to the skin because of their double coat. The same goes for soap. The most important thing is to make sure all the soap is out of their coat. When you think they’re soap free, rinse them again. Pat them down and really feel their hair for any hidden suds. When it comes to drying a Samoyed you need a pet dryer. You can invest a little of money in a good dryer but a cheaper one from Amazon will still do the trick. When drying your Samoyed, make sure they’re dried 100% as they are prone to hotspots from having wet skin. The best piece of advice we can give is start grooming and bathing your Samoyed as a puppy. Get them used to the bath AND the dryer. There is nothing worse than struggling to bath and dry a Samoyed who hates it. Poppy absolutely loves bath time and especially the blow dryer. She loves getting her head dried and almost falls asleep. We are VERY thankful for this 😅
