It’s easy to get mad at a horse, or any animal. It’s frustrating when things don’t go to plan. It’s upsetting when one thing that has been so difficult goes well and an easy thing falls apart—all in the same day sometimes. It’s easy to loose perspective and let emotions over take you. However, the beautiful thing about horses is the reminder that they are independent sentient beings who don’t have to put up with our crap, but they do. They try. So we must try to recognize what they need in hard moments, take our emotions out, honor theirs and see where that leads.

Mikko got his routine vaccinations today. He normally has a bit of swelling in his neck, but last year we found the magic trick. Extra dose of the pellets and some bute made it go much better! Fingers crossed for the same result this time.
