2023 was a rough year for Buddy and the family. He lost his birth mother, our sweet Beatrice Dashwood, in early November. We were able to give her a peaceful passing at home in her bed with her boy by her side. We all miss her so much and are grateful for the years we had with her. She will always live on in our hearts. 🐾❤️🐾

Thanks, everyone, for the well-wishes. Good news, the lump was benign!

Update: the vet put a drain in her leg this morning because the incision site is still collecting fluid. She thinks the scraping around the vein to remove the lump is making her lymphatic system go into overdrive.

Fingers crossed it’ll be cleared up by Monday or Tuesday. Until then, Bea is stuck wearing an Elizabethan collar. Buddy is sticking close to mom today.

Bea sleeping off another visit to the vet for a check-up and dressing change. She had surgery last week to remove a growth that turned out to be tricky because it was wrapped around a vein. She’s a good patient and mainly annoyed that she can’t run around the yard or wrestle with her boy Buddy.
