Please share this post - someone knows who shot this family's Sheltie, while their children were playing with the dog in their back yard. Willful animal abuse and child endangerment are serious crimes. If you know something, call authorities. Thank you for sharing, to help keep neighborhoods safe.

A Coweta family is searching for answers after their 3-year-old Shetland sheepdog, Apollo, was shot while their children played in the backyard.

Do not leave people or pets in your vehicle, even for "just a few minutes."
And when you get caught, don't lie about how long your child or animal has been trapped inside your vehicle. The people who raise the alarm have documentation on their phone to prove you wrong (been there - and while the woman claimed she had only been in the store less than five minutes, she had been in the store over 25 minutes).

This collie was found running through traffic on July 2. Was almost hit a couple of times. One of our volunteers took to vet and this collie was chipped. The vet contacted the chip company and the chip company text, called and emailed the owner on registration. Reached out to chip company again on 7/12 to see if they heard anything and there has been no response. There has been no response since being found on July 2. At this point, we are going to start our vetting process to make sure all medical needs are addressed. If anyone recognizes this collie please reach out to us. Name, birth date and microchip number will be required to show proof of ownership.

Before you head out for a walk with your pup, check the temperature first! 🌡️

High temps can make pavement dangerously hot for your dog's paws, and heat exhaustion can set in faster than you might expect. If you're ever unsure, the best way to test the pavement is to touch it with your hand. If it's too hot for your skin, it's too hot for your dog's, too.

☀️ Remember, pavement temperatures can be much hotter than the air temperature & vary based on sun exposure!
