A Legacy Of Community Support
OC Animal Allies began in 1984 as a small group of dedicated animal lovers in Orange County coming together to form an organization dedicated to helping Orange County residents and animals. In 1987, we were granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and the Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OCSPCA) was born. In 2019, the organization changed its

name to OC Animal Allies to reflect its unique position in the animal welfare space and to more accurately convey its mission and vision. With a continued focus on how best to serve the residents and animals in Orange County, our organization has developed innovative programs that focus on keeping animals out of shelters, and potentially euthanasia. Today, OC Animal Allies provides solutions for spay and neuter, emergency financial support, education and other resources. Our programs bring hope to Orange County pet owners who often have nowhere else to turn for help. OC Animal Allies is an independent, volunteer-driven, non-profit and is not affiliated with any other SPCA, including the ASPCA. We do not receive any funding from government or other agency and our operations are entirely funded by the generosity of our individual and corporate donors.

We are profoundly heartbroken by the devastation impacting the victims of the Los Angeles wildfires. Our hearts are with all those who have lost so much and those trying to save them.

OC Animal Allies is coordinating some of our resources to help our neighbors and those groups in Orange County providing direct assistance. Pet Food is not the only need, here are other ways you can help support:

• Seaside Terrace Retirement Community, located at 9925 La Alameda Ave, Fountain Valley, CA 92708 has taken in some 83 senior residents evacuated from the fires and are accepting donations of clothes, shoes, socks, pajamas, etc. to help these evacuees.

• Calico Fish House in Huntington Beach is located at 16600 Pacific Coast Highway and collecting donations to sendup to locations in Los Angeles.
NEW items such as Items for babies, Pet food, Hygienic items, Under garments, water, gift cards, camping and survival gear, phone chargers, etc. Can be brought to their location.

•Pasadena Humane Society has taken in hundreds of animals and is looking for foster and adopters to help make space for evacuees. Email [email protected]

What better way to celebrate than to help support pets in need? Dave & Kathy Rosenberger's amazing Photography Club held their annual Christmas party, where club members celebrated with some of our Therapy Dogs and filled our hearts and bowls by supporting our programs. Thank you for your support!

We were so touched to receive this handmade card from one of our regular participants of our Canine Literacy program! She attends up to 6 library visits each month and made this beautiful photo collage for us. We love that she enjoys reading to our therapy dogs so much!💕

Little Lulu got to spend Thanksgiving recovering from life saving surgery with her family this year. Each year we help hundreds animals like Lulu stay in their loving homes. This , help give the gift of lifesaving care, hope and companionship to neighbor in need.

Indica's mom came to us for urgent help after a grim diagnosis of Pyometra, an infection that is common in unspayed female dogs. With our help and your donations, she is happy and back at home recovering. After almost losing Indica, Her mom learned an important lesson about spaying- one she won't forget! Our History In 1984 a small group of dedicated animal lovers in Orange County, California got together with the purpose of forming an organization dedicated to helping animals and preventing animal cruelty. In 1987 they officially received their 501(c)(3) nonprofit status and the Orange County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OCSPCA) was born. Over the years our organization has grown and evolved, always focusing on how we could help the most number of animals possible. While some groups run shelters we decided to form a program based organization whose primary focus is to help reduce the number of animals killed in our shelters every year through spaying and neutering and through keeping the pets in their homes.

In 2020, the OCSPCA became the Orange County Animal Allies in order to better reflect with the evolution and progress that has taken place as a result of more than three decades of dedicated service to animals and residents of Orange County. What started with a group of committed animal lovers has grown into one of the county’s premier non-profit organizations, with innovative programs that assist those in our community who are most in need. This positive change reflects our continued expansion, which would not have been possible without the backing and support of our devoted animal lovers like you.

We invite you to visit our updated website, www.OCAnimalAllies.org. We are very proud of our heritage and legacy and we recognize that the name Orange County SPCA holds historical value and resonance. We will retain the OCSPCA.com website and automatically redirect visitors and emails. Our new website has a refreshing and clean new look, aimed at streamlining ways for Orange County residents to get help and to support those in need. Our office phone numbers will not change and mailing address will remain the same. Our Tax ID and non-profit status has not changed. We receive no government funding or contract. All our good work is dependent solely on financial support from our community of donors.
