WE RESCUE ABANDONED DOGS. Our animal-loving volunteers work every day to save as many abandoned, i
njured, abused, and homeless pets as possible. We bring dogs into our rescue program and provide safety, necessary vet care & rehabilitation. We then place the animals with pet fosters as they transition from the horrors of homelessness to being confident dogs. When ready, the SPAR dogs are adopted and move into wonderful homes to live the rest of their lives with their new forever families. WE ALWAYS NEED MORE HELP SAVING DOGS! DONATE, FOSTER, VOLUNTEER

COVID-19
Raising funds to keep the rescue going is difficult to do in the best of times. Like most nonprofits, 2020 & 2021 hit us very hard financially. Our spring fundraisers as well as the fall fundraisers (our biggest annual events) were canceled due to COVID-19. This unfortunate event caused SPAR to lose thousands of dollars necessary to rescue, vet, and rehabilitate abandoned animals.

NEEDING HELP WITH CATS? We recommend that you contact Forgotten Treasures Animal Rescue. They have a very knowledgeable, cat-savvy, woman that runs their kitty program as well as the Cat Center at PetSmart. Carol was with SPAR (she's still our cat guru) for many years until we were simply too overwhelmed with the abandoned dog crisis in Pottawatomie County.
