Ned, now Teddy, has been a gift for our little Benson to have with him for a few extra weeks. Benson has ADHD, DMDD, and suffered a severe concussion this year. He's been in all the treatments and therapies, and they've been helpful, but none as immediate or transformative as watching what happens when Benson is with a dog. It calms and regulates. Puts him in a position of being the "trainer" instead of the trainee, which seems to boost his confidence. He has such a softness about him that takes over when he is with one of his chosen puppies. I call them "chosen" because there are certain puppies that he is more drawn to. I knew Neddy/ Teddy was meant for special things because of how natural his response and intuitiveness was, from such a young age. Interestingly, Neddy Teddy is now adopted by a child psychologist, who was specifically looking for a dog that could go through special training to be a therapy dog for children. That's pretty cool to me.
Honestly it's probably why we are still doing this- there is a high burnout rate for breeders because of the intensity of all it involves. But I do feel that, for our family at least, the benefits of having them in our home with our kids has far outweighed the inherent stresses.
Especially when we get to see them go on to do this for other families in their new homes.

We are so happy our Lucy just got together with her new family today🥰.
She was delivered to them this morning and there they are looking so beautiful with Lucy in a family photo🥰❤️.
