Becoming a pet parent should be a lifelong commitment. Don't take the responsibility lightly

This is what it looks like when you surrender your dog to a shelter. This is from a dog who was dropped off to the shelter after being in a quiet home, with a bed, with a family. This is diarrhoea from having an upset stomach. Have you ever been so anxious to the point where you get sick to your stomach? This is a 24/7 feeling for a dog who has been surrendered. “Where is my family?” “Why am I in a cage?” “Why are all these dogs barking at me?” Imagine one day you’re taken from your luxurious life and thrown in prison for no reason, never to see your family again. Did you know 50% of dogs who are surrendered to a shelter don’t make it out? Pets are a lifelong commitment. Do not get an animal if you cannot financially, emotionally, or physically care for one. Newsflash, there is no such thing as a perfect dog or cat. They are expensive and a lot of freaking work. The loyalty of an animal is unmatched. They would never do it to you, so don’t do it to them….

According to CNN: Pope Francis has criticized couples who choose to have pets instead of children as selfish, arguing that their decision to forgo parenthood leads to a loss of "humanity" and is a detriment to civilization.

Happy Tongue Out Tuesday. Warning it's still cold and icy out there so don't let your dog stick their tongue on an icy pole.

If you have them put on your dogs jacket and shoes to protect them from the elements. If you don't have shoes wipe off their paws as soon as you return home.

Sydney started her day excited. She had a lot of plans but she soon found herself with a case of the Sundays. As a result she decided to lay low in a cool spot and listen to some smooth jazz.

While her friends played, Sydney had a relaxing Sunday because she listened to her body and decided to chill.

Repost:The sudden loud noise of 🎆 is interpreted as a possible threat to many 🐩s. When threatened 🐶s, like people, would go into fight or flight mode. Your 🐕 may run, hide, or bark. He may show other signs of anxiety, like restlessness, panting, pacing, whining and in extreme cases growl, or even attempt to attack whomever is nearest to him.

To prepare for this coming New Years Celebrations

🐕Ensure that your pet has on a collar with appropriate tags to locate you if they are lost

🏠Keep your pets indoors in a space where there are no windows

🎶Play soothing music/sounds and if possible turn it up to drown out the sound of fireworks

🧸Distracts them with treats, toys, play, or cuddles

🚰Keep your pet hydrated

💊If your pet has a history of anxiety you may need to use a more restrictive form of support such a thundershirt or medication.

Keep your pet and yourself safe and enjoy the holiday.

We are looking for a new home for this lovely boy Kane. He is a little over one year old. Kane is fully vaccinated and neutered.

He is playful energetic and loves to spend time with his humans. He does well with adults and children. He knows basic commands and is eager to learn much more. He will do will with a family that likes to run, hike, and have to play fetch. He prefers to the be the only family pet.
