And now sweet Molly is gone. 💔

I’m glad we had the last 6 months alone together so that she could be queen and have sole reign over me; she sure relished that experience! And so did I.

The house feels empty. It’s going to be a cold winter. But I am so deeply grateful that she and Toby, littermates, were with me for 17 years.

RIP, Miss Molly!

Sad news to report; Toby’s gone. No more endless hours of purring and sonic snoring. No more eyes overflowing with love, entreaties for treats, and goop. No more plodding about like a polar bear, supporting the Bandaid industry, or chewing the bamboo plants and crunchy plastic strips from ice cream containers. No more assistance with my picture puzzles, helping me cook, or pinning me to my chair. And no more fuzzy-faced greetings in the morning or at the front door when I come home. He was so full of love and personality that there wasn’t much room left for brains, but he didn’t notice. We were great pals and loved each other deeply.

His sister, Molly, is confused and seems to need far more lap time than usual. She’ll be okay, as will I, but we’ll need a bit more of each other for a while.

Please give your furry friends an extra cuddle for Toby, today.

Many thanks to Debbie, the vet tech who held my hand (and Molly’s paw) through this complicated and scary treatment process. She is an angel. Fingers crossed that Molly stays in remission for a loooong time.

Toby and Molly turned 13 last week. In celebration, I got them an ear of corn. Happy birthday, you furry love bugs!

Inter-species drama at our house today. This was followed by endless complaining by squirrels in that tree, because a neighborhood cat was on the fence below their nest. The cat was studying a pile of brush. I wonder who was hiding in there. I’m exhausted. Too much drama.

When Toby flashes his belly, you KNOW he is happy!

I had good news today, so I decided to share my joy with Toby and Molly by buying them feathery catnip 🐭. This is quite a happy household!

Toby is worn out from today’s festivities, but I’m sure he’d wish you all a merry Christmas if he were awake. Molly, too.

No, she’s not having seizures.
