🆘URGENT🆘

This poor boy recently came into the shelter after a citizen realized how sick he was. Tiger is suffering from a severe uri, dehydrated, congested, has raspy breathing, has an odor coming off of his face, and is not eating in the shelter. Tiger needs out of the shelter and to a full service vet. The shelter has given him till 5pm Friday (3/25) but if he continues to not eat that deadline will be moved up. Tiger is an older friendly guy.

She’s staying nice and warm in one of our incubators and feels comforted by the heartbeat stuffed animal, providing a soothing environment while we monitor her.

UPDATE:
Her exam with the vet yesterday resulted in a palpable mass in her abdomen being felt, though it was non-painful Foul smelling-yellow-brown discharge from v***a. A barium study was done to help determine if the mass in her abdomen was f***s or a retained fetus or a mass. The barium study results determined it was most likely f***l matter.

She is being monitored for signs of hypocalcemia and has been started on IV Fluids.

This momma and her 6 kittens (born Friday) just arrived after the caretaker thought mom was bit lethargic. She was seen by the vet and her exam was all clear. She is FELV/FIV negative.

Her kittens are about 4 days old, and weigh 0.15-0.22 pounds. All appear healthy and nursing well.

Jacques– 2093257 –11 months old – Neutered – 5lbs.

Sweet Jacques is in URGENT Need of Rescue due to a severe constipation which can be controlled with diet and laxatives/enemas. He was also treated for sarcoptic mange and he was cured with the help of an amazing foster but now he is scratching himself and its causing wounds as well as hairloss on his right shoulder and neck area.

Jacques is a cute boy and friendly! He deserves a home that will give him all love and care he needs to thrive. Rescue would need to sign Known Medical form upon release.

Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) is a program in which free roaming cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated for rabies and other feline viruses, and then returned to their outdoor home to live out their lives.

We are teaming up with trappers in Pasco County to help control feral and free-roaming cats in the area. We have a generous donor who is matching the first $2,500 we raise for this program, but we need your help! Damascus

I’m not sick. I’m not injured. There is nothing wrong with me. I’m just another lone kitten abandoned or lost whose innocence has forever been shattered by the reality of the shelter. I’m in a rural shelter with the lowest LIVE release rate in the state of Georgia. Yes, that means once we come here, we will never leave. I’ve been here over a month and not a soul has even inquired about my life. NOT ONE SOUL!!!

I’ve watched as families of 3 and families of and 5 and families of even more be taken away never to return. Family by family, day after day. How do you find any hope in a place where sorrow and cries of fear echo through your bones night after night?

We know the fate that awaits us here.

How does a kittie born into this world ever get a chance? How does a kitten like me find a way out? How does a kitten ever dare to hope for LIFE?

Maxamus has daily litterbox accidents which include him urinating and defecating outside of the box. This has been occurring for the last 1 to 6 months in the home. He has not been taken to the vet for this problem. Maxamus is used to clumping, clay and deodorized litter in a hooded litterbox. The litterbox is located in the basement and is not scooped at all, the entire litter is thrown out once a week. The previous owner did not attempt to modify the behavior and did not attempt to scoop more often. There were no significant changes to his living environment recently but the family received a dog three years ago- the dog would often jump on Maxamus and eat all of his food. The previous owner stated that they do not know why Maxamus could be having litterbox accidents.

Basic Information:
Maxamus is an approximately 16 year old, male, gray and white domestic shorthair who was surrendered by his owner due to allergies in the home. He lived with his owner, their family and a dog for 16 years.

Maxamus is friendly and outgoing with strangers. He plays gently with adults.

Maxamus lived in the home with two children who were 10 and 11 years old. He plays gently with children.

Maxamus did not spend time with other cats, his behavior is unknown.

How is this cat around dogs?
Maximus lived in the home with a large mixed breed, male, 3 year old dog. He was fearful of the dog in the home as it would often jump on Maxamus and frighten him. The dog in the home also often ate all of Maxamus' food. Maxamus would often swat and hiss at the dog in the home when this happened.

Behavior Notes
Maxamus is reported to have litterbox accidents in the home and would swat at the dog when it jumped on him. It is unknown how Maxamus behaves when he is riding in a car. Maxamus will struggle and swat when he is bathed. He has not had his nails trimmed and his coat has never been brushed. He enjoys being picked up and held. He has never been put into a carrier. He is not bothered when his rest is disturbed.

For a New Family to Know
Maxamus is a friendly cat with a low activity level. His previous owner's favorite thing about him is that he is affectionate and Maxamus' favorite activity is laying around. When you're home, he tends to follow you around. He does not have any toys that he likes to play with. He is an indoors only cat who likes to sleep under the children's bed in the home or by the heater in the home. He eats both dry and wet food and was usually fed one can of food twice a day from an unknown brand. He does not have any favorite treats. He is not litterbox trained and has daily accidents. He is used to a hooded litterbox with clay and clumping litter. He scratched on the rugs in the home and did not have a scratching post provided for him.

Behavior Notes:
Upon intake, Maxamus purred very loudly and came to the front of his carrier to greet the staff member. He walked out on his own and solicited attention by head bunting, following the staff members hands and rubbing his body against them. He was active on the table and moved around often. He was collared, scanned and photographed with no issues. Maxamus was offered food and ate voraciously. He was taken to Vet Services.

Sleeping in the kennel and doesn't wake when spoken to or pet. Was in very deep sleep, but once he woke up he looks at me with soft eyes and continues to allow petting. He starts to purr loudly and will lean in for cheek/chin rubs. Allows all petting and handling without issues.
